Why Respond? (Little Rant, Sorry)

Do you ever start a discussion and someone answers in a way that makes you feel like they really didnt want to?
It blows my mind every time. If you do not like my discussion PLEASE feel free to find another one! I dont know why some people have to act like their doing you a favor by talkng to you!
If you get tired of the same person's discussions, do you find a different one? Or do you reluctantly answer anyway?

There are many times I will pass on a discussion if there is nothing I feel that I can contribute to it, even if they are a friend of mine. Personally with all the wonderful friends that I have made in here, and all the discussions that are being started each day there is always something usually I am interested in responding back too. For me it makes no sense responding back to something you are not interested in or have knowledge of just because you want to earn something in here. Move on to something else.

I do the same thing. There are lots of discussions on here that I can respond to so why respond to one that I dont really like?
I have made lots of friends here too and I hope to make more the longer that I am here!

I have come across this on more than one occassion. I personally just shrug it off. It is obvious that these people are just trying to get a rise out of you. If they didn't want to respond, I am sure that they wouldn't, however since they did I would have to say that they are just trying to get to you and the best thing to do would be to ignore them. I hate it when people give rude responses to something that I have writen, but I guess it just goes to show that some people have no class. Don't let it get you down, keep up the good work.

That is a good idea. Maybe starting this discussion gave them a thrill in itself. Darn it! I do not think that way because I am not a rude person or someone that likes getting a rise out of people. If I dont like a discussion, I simply dont respond to it.
Thank you for the response! =)

I have said , if you don't like the way I respond, don't ever read anything I write. It is sad when a person adds a comment Only to insult you.

I love how you respond! It's more the people that are ONLY here to make money and nothing else I think. I think they do it just to earn their few cents... But I don't think it is fair for people to respond things that just don't make sense...

My first discussion that I post here before was the conflict in Palestine between Israel where the peace talk is always collapse and not attain conclusions...there is only comments in that particular discussion but it's not the reason for me to stop doing things here...

I love being here, posting and responding! Sometimes it gets on my nerves when people don't read things all the way so they answer something that has nothing to do with what I wrote.

I have had a few "friends" that expect everyone to respond to their discussions regardless of the topic, and would complain about others not responding to them. Since the guidelines tell us to only respond when we have something to contribute or that we can further the topic, I can't for the life of me figure out why people respond with "I wish I could help but I have no idea", and other such nonsense, especially when we are told specifically not to do that. No one should feel they have to respond to another, if you don't know about the topic and you don't want to know more then move on to another discussion. We aren't forced to respond here, it's a choice.
Yes I have had a few mylotters here that their discussions annoy me, and I skip them. Sometimes I'm in the mood to read them, and at other times I don't even do that.
If I'm responding in the discussion it's because I felt that I could give another perspective on the subject or I just liked the discussion.
Different view points are great, and I don't think that's what your talking about, but the responses that just have that attitude of ugh, I'm responding to you yet again, just to post my response somewhere. Those are people that are here just for the money IMO. Since I have never been here for the money I only post where and when I want.

Thank goodness I havent had anyone tell me to respond to them because that wouldnt be as much fun. I have thought to myself I wish this person would answer, they would know what to do but I have never said it to anyone.
I agree if you dont like the discussion find another there are lots of them!
I love other opinions! Your right thats not what Im talking about here. If someone just talks to make money you definitely can tell.

I usually do not even consider responding if it is not a discussion that interests me in some way. I do make a joke now and then, but I usually try to come up with quality responses. If I don’t think I can contribute something to the topic, I usually don’t bother typing anything. It doesn’t really bother me if someone just seems to think they are doing me a favor by responding to my post, though, because in past jobs I have had, I have gotten pretty good at overlooking or ignoring people LOL

I do not join a discussion I am not interested in either. I don't want to waste someones time with nonsense. Lol. Jokes are fine in my book.
I wish I could get better at ignoring people, I have not really mastered that one yet. Lol.
Is that something you could teach me? Lol.

I don´t really mind that, but of course I don´t comment on those answers. If there is nothing to comment, then why bother? There are many answers that are meaningful. I stick to those. Those are the ones that make me come again to mylot every day.

Exactly to make it a more interesting place we should all respond to ones that interest us. That way things are more enjoyable for all of us.

You should expect users like that here. This is a paid-to-post website. This means there will always be users who'll want to game myLot's system just to reach the minimum payout. If you really think the user responded with nonsense, you can always report the post, or rate it negatively. That's kind of the trick when you're dealing with online forums: when someone pisses you off, of course you'd want to get back at them. You can't let them get to you. Instead, you can use the forum's rules and guidelines to your advantage.

Well, if their post really pisses you off, and you know that it's offline, you can report them. But that's great that you can just ignore them. Most of the time, it helps when you just ignore stupid claims. It keeps you focused on what you're supposed to do.

You are absolutely right. I just dont think about it sometimes because this site is more to me than just getting paid you know? But for the ones that only care about the money your correct thats why they do it.
Im the kind of person where I dont like getting anyone in trouble so I saynothing to them and I just vent to others! Then I feel better and its all good. Lol.

THAT is too funny! I once reported someone for intimidating people to think they wrote something that broke all the rules and would have their discussion removed. "People don't read the rules" ya know! The poor guy reported himself! I told the real mylot police about it, you know the ones who actually get hired by mylot? They said they would take care of that person and thanked me. Positive/positive/problem solved.

I only answer discussions that I think interesting to me. I don't see reason to answer a discussion that I didn't liked, because I probably would not give a good response.
Sometimes, I see some rude responses and I don't know why persons do this too, maybe they had a bad day or, unfortunately, some persons are just like that.

agree!! it's quite annoying when it is obvious that someone respond just for the sake of making another post, on the other hand I really like those response that are engaging and written in a way that makes you feel the person who respond really thinks about his/her response. When I don't feel responding to someone's discussion (for some reason) I won't respond even if the discussion creator is a friend or someone who I have some good conversation in the past. But for sure I will read the discussion and sometimes when I see some responses within the discussion that caught my interest I will definitely comment on that box.

You want to comment on what?
I skip the topics I am not interested in, why bother because the one that is doing it is most likely not interested in your stuff either. On the other hand, how do you know the person that does doesn’t want to but is just saying something that sounds that way? I don’t know how you can know what people are thinking? I guess you can relate to what they are writing though?

Yeah I know what you mean. Some people just want to answer every discussion so that they can earn alot on mylot. It doesnt seems to matter wither they have anything to contribute. thats why mylot is careful on how they pay you. They make sure the members are not just writing nonsense.

It is annoying at times. If you don't like the discussion or don't know what the person is talking about then answer something else, I do! And most people do here, it is just the few that do it...

Don't feel like that! At least you got a response. I have a ton of friend here and very few actually answer my discussions but boy do they want you to answer theirs....I am always happy to answer my friends discussions...but also do others. If I don't know anything about what the discussion is about I do skip it...like things about computers.....I don't know enough about them to help someone out!

I do usually get responses here which I am glad about. =) But I would be happier with the responses that make sense... I also skip things that I have no interest in or don't have any idea what their talking about. I don't answer just to make money. I answer because I like discussing things with people here. And that is the difference I think... =)

Hello lovingmybabies,
I don't feel like I am doing someone a favor by responding to their discussions but rather I feel that the person starting the discussion did me the favor by posting a discussion I can respond to. I look at my glass as being half full, not half empty so when someone responds with nonsense then I try to think of it as I helped them to earn by starting the discusssion in the first place.
You are going to find all kinds of people here in mylot and you aren't going to like every one of them. I just ignore these people and don't say much to them. If I find a discussion that one of my friends started and I have nothing to add to it I don't bother responding, but only because I don't know what to say and I don't want to be one of those people you are talking about.
Good luck and cheers my friend,
Chris

I agree. I love when people start discussions that I am interested in. I love talking about things with people. =)
That is a good way to look at it, helping them to earn by starting the discussion. Very true. I like how you think.
I have seen all kinds of people and I don't mind the weird, crazy, silly, nice, outspoken or the smarty pants. However, the rude ones I DO mind! I am not rude and so I expect the same in return. =)
If I don't like a discussion or I have nothing nice to say in it then I will not answer because I like being a nice person...

That is too funny because I only found this discussion after posting a discussion regarding the same thing. Someone responded to one of my discussions and you could clearly tell they didn't even read he discussion. I don't really see the purpose of that. Why even bother to type something if it doesn't even pertain to the conversation. But I guess there will always be those who don't want to take time to actually read something, only to try to earn a few cents.

I just responded to yours too! It's okay. I just hope they don't get deleted!
I absolutely agree with you. It is annoying and a complete waste of time. But they do it just to earn the few cents they get...Crazy to me...
I like it here, more than the money. I like the friends I have here and I like being able to talk about anything! It's nice to have people to vent to sometimes too. =)

Hi, Loving, don't get upset. MyLot is a model of the real life. Do you notice that more and more people don't listen when you talk to them? Some of them give the same inadequate answers because they just want to say what they think. Some people here make the same thing hoping to earn a few cents more.
But many myLotters are nice people and that's why we are here. Happy myLotting.

I know many are nice and the good outweigh the bad, thats why Im still here. I have been here for a while before now, just have a different account now because too many things in my life going on at the time. But im back for good now! And I will just ignore the few that annoy me.

I believe that whenever you respond to a discussion it only means it catches your attention and so as you go to discuss with it there is that interest to exchange views and so to further the discussion. Just select and do not bother to comment in a way that will only give the one who started the discussion a disgust. Give respect to others.Even their views and beliefs can be straighten up or likened in an educated, loving manner. Nothing to lose if you will just leave topics that do not suit your taste and why waste time just to offend. It is better to collect friends that to pile up negativities. I have encountered myloters like what you have pointed out but I just do not mind their comment and still I respond politely.

I agree. In order to get respect you have to give it first! I do not answer topics that I don't know about or I really don't like because there are SO many that I DO like so I answer those ones instead!
I am just going to ignore it from now on. After a while of ignoring it though it has gotten on my nerves!
