Will the problems in Iran lead the United States to finally go to war with them? We just left Iraq and still in Afghanastan. Will the United States government risk popularity and votes to do whats best for the country? I believe we need to send troops over there and handle not only the nuclear testing they are doing but also take care of the oil issue in the middle east. I dont know about you but there is no reason for gas to be as expensive it is.

I think it's not any of our business. I would love to see our troops come home and stay home. I don't think we belong there and I don't see how it would help our cost of oil and gas. You pretty much said it yourself..."there is NO REASON for gas to be as expensive as it is. There is NO REASON...not even Iran.

Well first off, President Obama is not going to put us in another war for as long as he is president. I dont think Gingrich or Romney will either unless we are pushed (a.k.a. they actually test a nuke). The only way the United States will ever enter a war with Iran is if Iran were to attack a neighboring country or attack the shipping lanes in the strait. Even then I believe it would be dealt with much like the bombing of Syria under Reagan's presidency or the first gulf war, where it comes down to a battle plan of contain and eliminate the threat. I dont think we will see boots on the ground in Iran in the forseeable future. Here's why:
1. Iran's military is much larger, more advanced, and better trained than Iraq's.
2. Iran has strong economic and military ties to Russia and China, and the U.S. will try and protect the peace with those two countries.
3. A war in Iran would entirely destabilize the entire middle east and could destroy the democracy in Iraq that we have been working on for the last 9 years. (reasoning is from funding, the largest amount of foreign investment coming into Iraq after the U.S. is Iran).
