Do you support your local team, succesful team or both ?

I support Stoke City mainly because i live very close to the ground, you could say that they are in my blood. They have not been very succesful but have not been doing too badly recently, reaching the FA cup final last season and are currently 8th in the premier league and are in the last 16 of the europa league. So do you support your local team or do you support a team for a different reason ?

Unfortunately for me, I do not have local clubs here in India that are famous and the club football in India has not really kicked off, so I do not have a local team to cheer. Of course, when Indian team plays in some local tourneys I follow them. So I am left to support Arsenal and Barcelona as my two favorite teams. Cheers! Ram

Off late, some things are coming our way. Bayern Munich was here last week. They beat our national team 4-0. Now there is talk of Cannavaro coming over. It is good for Indian football. Cheers! Ram

I think I will answer it: both :D In English Premier League, i support Manchester United. In Italian Serie A League, i support Juventus. Both of them are successful teams, i think. And for my local team, I support PSIS Semarang. They are in the 2nd Level Division in my country. I support them since I was born and raised in Semarang, my hometown. Even though now I'm moving to another city, I still support them, even when they were relegated in couple seasons ago. It's already in your blood, i think they're saying :)

As I said before, they are now playing in the 2nd level league in our country, that's called 'Divisi Utama'. We are in Group 2 along with 9 other clubs. At this time, we're in the second position with two wins, one draw and one lost. Yes, of course I remember Tugiyo. He's the one who scored the winning goal against Persebaya in the final leg of Indonesian League campaign in 1998/1999 :D Too bad, I heard that he's got injury, and since then, his name was never heard again. :(

Here in the Philippines football is still a growing sport for us. Basketball is the main man of sports here in our country. Have you heard about the Philippine Azkals, they are not yet that famous worldwide but they are good though they haven't registered enough wins for the country in international competitions. I still support them though, win or lose I am proud they are representing our country in so many international football debacles. However, I am sad that there are some of my fellowmen that don't support this team, because they are just half blooded Filipino players. Most of them say they don't deserve to represent the country, they are not true Filipinos. I don't know what these people are thinking but I abhor their attitudes. half blood or not they are still of Filipino descent. They must understand that they are here to represent their home country and they are sacrificing their own sweat and blood to make the country proud. I am hoping this will stop and see the Philippine Azkals with full backing of the whole country.

i see.thats dillema.. Phillipines with many naturalization player follow what Singapore had done in AFF cup 2006 and they did it..the problem is Phillipines only reach the Semifinal AFF 2010.. i think the good national team can be built from a good league..make a good and routine league and it will produce many youngster and talented player
