One of our friends here has taught me to be more grateful for what I have now. They didnt mean to teach me anything but with what they are going through they did teach me that. What I am going through seems like nothing compared to what their going through. The 3 things I am most grateful for today is Being alive Having my family Having a roof over my head So what are you grateful for today? Has someone here taught you something?

I am just happy to be surviving. I have my family, meaning my parents, and my girl friend. I wish my kids were with me though. They live with the evil ex. But I am getting by day by day and I am happy that I have what I have. It could always be worse.

Yes, things could be worse, but sometimes we look at our current situation as the worst ever. I think we should look beyond that. But I know it's hard.

It is hard. I know that trust me. =( I live with 7 other people and it is a very tough thing for me. I am miserable. It seems like every time I turn around I am doing something else wrong in their eyes. But I am grateful for a roof over my head. I have been homeless so I know this is better than that.

I am most grateful for my family, having a roof over my head and having a working car. I would hate to bus in this weather. Moderate weather here is a nice thing to be thankful for too. I hear of Alaska being snowed under and afew places back east. I couldn't handle it with my hip.

I always think that someone else is probably worse off than I am.

I have learned many useful things on myLot. It is good that you have learned many things also here. It is so nice that people share so much that we can learn from. I am grateful for: Our home, each other, family.

Oh yes, there's a handful of people here on myLot who have taught me a lesson or two. Just like you, maybe their intention was not to teach, but just to share a few kind words that surely helped me get that boost that I needed at that particular time. I know that you're going through some difficult time in your life right now. And it's so refreshing that you still found a way to be grateful. This makes me confident that you and your family will be OK.

i've been apply for a work lately and i really need a work badly for financial purposes and all but i was not called by this company unlike my friend whom i invited she was called and was able to pass the interview.. it came to a point that i was feeling depressed but then i realized and recognized the essence of Faith and Patience, i know the Lord has a reason why the company didn't called me and i'm starting to realize why. the 3 things i'm Grateful for are: 1.) Good Health for my Family 2.) Thankful that my friend has a new work. 3.) Having the realization of the importance of Patience and Faith. Nice Discussion..^^

That is true. There is a good reason why they didnt call you. Maybe the Lord has a job for you that you will like better or do better at. Whatever the reason God will make it worth the wait! Those are great things to be grateful for! =) I hope you find a great job soon!

My dear wise Mum used to say the following when I complained about anything: 'You have clothes on your back, a roof over your head and food to put in your stomach. What more do you need?' I'm now grateful for everything, good or bad, as it helps us to become stronger, better and more spiritually aware human beings. Blessings!

Your mom is very wise you are right! That is something I think we should all think about at the hardest times. Maybe it will make us see things differently. I know it will make me.

Not that someone here have directly taught me or told me so. But just by reading other myLotters greatest problems here I realized I should be more grateful with what I have. Well, like you I am thankful that I am still alive with my family with me. I am as well thankful that I can eat regularly while there are people who don't even know how to get by one day feeling really hungry with no food to eat.

Through this persons sadness and pain I have learned to be more grateful for what I have. I agree I am glad I have food to eat each day also. My husband and I feed people that dont have food so I know there are plenty who are hungry. =(

friends are always their for teaching without any self centredness, but sometimes they become too philosophical and i hate it.
