Yeah I also read that news. In fact he was a player of the club Rosario in his early days before coming to Barcelona. His club was unable to pay for the treatment of his growth hormone efficiency. That is when Barcelona sponsored for his treatment and got him signed.
Messi is willing to play in a club of his country but I think he will join there just before his retirement as he is very loyal to Barcelona team. So there is no question joining there in peak of his career.

like or dislike, Messi had been legend for Barcelona..and it`s not easy for buying Messi from barcelona..
of course Messi do know that he can`t be like now, if Barcelona did not support and paid his treatment...thats why, even many club come to barcelona and offer a hundred million dollar, Messi still stay in barcelona

I think he would definitely like to play in his country. But given the fact that he is just 21 years old, I think it will be quite a while before he goes back to play in Argentina. I think it might be well over a decade before he joins a club there.
