I used to make this years ago, but I honestly can't remember the last time I made it. Well I've been trying to come up w/ different things to make for dinner & I thought to make this. Only problem is I forgot how to make it. I should also mention that I am not the greatest cook in the world as well...LOL Anyway, I asked my sister how to make a whole chicken in the oven that was about 6 pounds & she said that she uses onion & garlic, neither of which I have. All I have is good old fashioned spices. I also have an electric stove & not a gas stove which is what she has. Here is a list of the spices that I currently have: Paprika Lemon Pepper Salt Pepper Garlic Onion powder Celery Seed Oregano Basil Sage Thyme I would appreciate any help or advice that you could give me. Thank you

Well, what my husband does that seems to turn out really well for cooking chicken in the oven is cover the pieces in flour and then add some lemon pepper, or other seasoning we might have in the house, and then put on a cookie sheet and then cook it from there. He has also done this with Pork Chops as well, and they always come out tasting good. The lemon pepper gives them a Great flavor as well.

Oh I agree. I love my lemon Pepper. I use that on a lot of my meat, not just chicken.

I place my chicken in the electric oven (although I also have a big gas one) salted and with many dabs of butter. I put it in medium for over an hour. Of all the spices you have, the only one I would use would be pepper. I like my chicken with it´s own taste.

I just take a whole chicken and put it in the oven. I put butter over the skin and salt and pepper. And bake until it is tender. That is it. Then I just make up a box of dressing, cook up some potatoes (or make baked potatoes) and serve with a vegetable.

Right, I like to boil it also. And then I save the broth for soup. We just eat the chicken for salads, sandwiches or casseroles.

Thank you all so much for being so helpful. I know it must sound silly that I don't even know how to make chicken in the oven, but I never was much of a cook. Now that I'm married I have no choice but to learn.

It would be really good with lemon pepper. I use lemon pepper and salt. I like to use a baking bag, but it’s not necessary. I like to bake my chicken slow in a 350 degree oven until it is done. You can cover it with aluminum foil and then for the last half hour take the foil off and let the skin get crisp. I’d bake it covered for an hour and 30 minutes uncovered… or you might just keep it uncovered until it’s done. There are so many ways to fix chicken.

My family always love to put minced ginger and onion inside the chicken and put pepper and salt over the chicken skin. But since you don't have such you may want to pour Evaporated milk, pepper and a bit of salt all over the chicken and marinate it for a while before putting it to oven. Milk will bring different texture in the chicken and the taste as well..
