the famous hero character 'superman' is very popular around the world and a lot of men idolize this character and would dream and want to be like him. i haven't seen the full episode yet, but i just saw a commercial on tv of a documentary show regarding this man who is a big fan of superman. he underwent a cosmetic surgery to look just like the character. now, he really looks just like superman..and while seeing him, in my opinion he looks kind of scary to me already..because it is not natural and normal anymore..he even make his eyes blue a different kind of blue that is not the normal blue eye of a person and his skin he made it white..his chin he alter it to be like superman who is divided chin. i think that this kind of person is really not normal, psychologically to fully alter his true self into something and somebody whom he idolize. what can you say about this?

Yes last year I saw the news about a Filipino man underwent extensive surgery to make himself look like Superman.I think it is the same man you are talking about.Yes this is pretty outrageous, but not really more outrageous than having plastic surgery to[attempt, with varying degrees of success,to] look like any other famous figure,20+ years younger, like someone of a different ethnic heritage,or any other reason people have elective plastic surgery. At least he picked a classy character.

Fanaticism can really make people do weird things :) Fans have been know to style their hair similar to an actress or actor they idolize. They buy clothes and stuff that their idols wear and have. They sometimes mimic or speaks the same way they do. I guess this person just took it to the extreme.

I think I have seen that in one television show in the Philippines. I always watch that show every Saturday, and heck, the man really changed himself into like Superman. With help of technology and money, he was able to change into a different person.

I've wrote this is my blog and put up his photo too. It was actually featured in a British online newspaper too. He was a fanatic of Superman but under going a surgery to look like his hero is way too much. With so much surgeries I still think he don't look that handsome as Superman.

Actually this are normal people with a low self confident. That's the reason behind why they try to imitate someone's identity or a character. Once they fully imitate that character they felt a sense of fullfilment and they are very confident in some way. But in reality they are rejecting their own identity.

I guess if someone has enough money to pay for all that surgery then they should go for it I guess if they are that obsessed with getting their looks to look like someone elses. I would love to have a different nose and get the wrinkles smoothed out of my forehead but I wouldnt take a picture of someone and say change everything about me so I can look like this person. Thats just pretty odd. I mean say they wanted a particular nose because they thought it would look good on them then fine but dont change your entire face to look like one person.

That is a typical result of an obsessed person who has the money to back up that obsession.
What I am waiting to happen is his attempt to fly and how he'd go about it.

He can be advised, he can be warned but then that is his life. He's waiting for the phrase, "I told you so".
I wonder if a person like this would have to need a therapy?
He can be a sensation now but in the future, fame will fade. He's not immortal you know?

yes he looks like superman already but even though he looks like the character still it is not normal because that is not his true self and identity..he said he is doing it for a cosplay but when we are normal, for me, still it is not good to look at..

I didn't have to do that. I already look just like superman in a skinny geeky kind of way. I grew a graying mustache and goatee. It was getting just too hard to fight the ladies off. My daughter is laughing looking over my shoulder as I write this.
