Hi adhyz. I do proud of our military. Military is the best word (I think) to refer our nation's soldier. While soldier usually mentioned in singular, army is often mentioned as military.
Of course I do.
We all know the history of Indonesia's military. Take a look at the nations worldwide. When the communist or socialist revolt began to arise, usually it needs a foreign intervention/force to oppress the revolt.
In Indonesia, it does not need a foreign force.
You know, one who oppress the communist revolution/coup of P.K.I (Indonesia's communist party) is military! Army does it.
CIA operation cannot stop that. Even worse, CIA's failure is caught by president Soekarno and he humiliated the CIA.
Not only the army, but also the navy.
Remember the conflict of west Irian?
I think I don't have to tell much longer. I assume we all know the history.
It shows that our military has proven itself as a capable institution to keep our nation in a piece. Military has been proven capable to guard our country both physically (war effort) and psychologically (political effort).
Hidup Indonesia! Jayalah Indonesia! Jadikan Garuda sebagai pemimpin di Dunia!

Hi adhyz: I don't live in your country but I think I can answer it from my own experience. I admire the work of soldiers, specially because they have to take so many risks to defend people's freedom when they don't even know them but I don't feel proud of soldiers as an institution, simply because they should not even exist in a peaceful society.

I believe more in soldiers from other countries because of the strict training they went through, unlike singapore. I've seen our soldiers, their attitude and i don't trust them at all. Imagine a soldier, having their maid to carry their backpack for them? Kids of our generation are too pampered and with the advancement to 3rd generation soldier, it's only going to make things worse. Soldiers of the past are more reliable.

if your referring to each on of our soldiers in our respective country then, Yes and no. Yes because I am proud of our filipino soldiers. but then again, No, because I believe they cannot protect our country from other countries. They may put up a fight, but with just them, we would lose inevitably.

i was produ when i was a kid, but, i am not sure if our force will be able to protect indonesia when enemy comes. even i know kopassus is the third best army in the world, but it doesnt mean they have good tools and weapon. my home is behind kandang menjangan, kopassos brigade in solo area. i know it from near, and i assume they are not ready when we get attack
