Why post a response if you didn't read the discussion??

Have any of you guys been reading back through responses you have received and could clearly tell that someone didn't even read your discussion?? It kind of defeats the purpose if you don't read the discussion and then you find that the person is really making a fool of themselves. If you do respond to any of my discussions please take time to actually read them, instead of just responding just for the credit.

Several Lotters have more than one tab open when responding and sometimes they post a response on the wrong discussion. I saw that a couple of days ago when I was reading through the responses nefore posting my own.
If you receive an irrelevant response on one of your topics you can report it for being just that, irrelevant. It will be removed and the user will not earn from it.

MysD - Then there are those of us that post irrelevant responses just because we can ... oh wait, that was irreverent not irrelevant - never mind.
Top - I remember those two discussions, but fortunately most of us were posting back and forth in both discussions, so we understood the mix-up!

Not everyone here is around to share their thoughts and experience it seems. Some are in for the money only (not that the extra cash is not a nice bonus). Don't take it to heart as you will see a lot of it around and in certain interests. Keep following the rules and you will have a great time here. Happy MyLotting.

just a reminder if they are here only for the money then why are they not reading the directions and obeying them as responses that
have not a thing to do with the topic usually are deleted with
the reason given it did not add anything to the discussion. so they are not making money after all.

We all get those one-liner response that really make no sense at all. When I first started here, the reason why I was not able to make it to the payout was that I would read rather than respond to discussions. I would read the whole discussion, including the responses that I would forget to post my own. These people who leave one-line or no sense responses are usually the ones who ask a lot about how this site works because they haven't read the rules.

Sometimes when the discussion has too many responses, I would find it redundant to add my own so I just left it as is. But now, I no longer read the responses because if I do, I would probably not post anything again.

Hi Anne,
That's so cool of you. And it's indeed funny because you were really enjoying the discussion without even adding your own comment on that discussion. It is indeed best to join the conversation...It's one of the best feeling in here.
Anyways, there would be times that I would experience this kind of thing...and I end up realizing that I should definitely join them and comment to it...so, I would go and find it.
Have a great day!

I have had that happen many times, but then again sometimes the titles of my discussions, although relevant to the content, are not exactly what you would think they would be at first glance. It definitely makes it easy to distinguish which people actually read the discussion content and which ones just read the title.

Indeed, of course, some people could do better with getting to the point with their discussions, myself included. Still it is a good idea to have a slightly better than a general idea when responding to a discussion. There are a lot of times where topic titles can rather be something that is going to be deceiving and perhaps is not going to give a full scope of the topic.
Of course, one may argue having a deceptive topic title would be bad form as well. Your mileage may greatly vary on that one to say the very least. Still it is a good idea to read over those discussions, to get together a more solid, higher quality response. Of course, quality is something that is in the eye of the beholder. And we all go off on tangents. Myself included.

These people just wants to earn that's why they don't read the entire discussion. And these people just miss the important factor of this site which is to learn from those discussions and acquire knowledge.
It is indeed very important to read discussions before responding and with we are able to relate well with the topic and we can also comment which is in regards to the topic.
If the topic doesn't interest you or you are tired of reading it, then, it is best to just leave the discussion and find something that will make you read....(an advise to those people).
Anyways, have a wonderful day...^^

hi klw5000 you are so right but get this those that make dumb responses just for money will not make money as the response will
be deleted and the responder told that your response did not add
to t he discussion.People who do not read any of the mylot info
miss all the clues that tell them the does and don'ts of making discussions and of responding to others discussions. Anything goes
does not apply to my lot. folks read the guidelines and the FAQ's
so you know what your are doing here.I know this has been repeated but why it is repeated is just because a lot do not have the foggiest
idea of whats in the guidelines and what the hell they are doing.
I would not do that when joining a new site as I would want to know'how to use it correctly.

klw5000 //while I understand what you are saying, I do admit I have been guilty on occasion of not readintg the entire discussion especially if there are many many replies.
Sometime I only have a few minutes when I come here to see what is going on. If I see a subject and it reminds me if something, I will reply without reading all other replies. I normally try to read the previous replies..but I think everyone on occasion just answers. I think I would rather hear everything and just know that sometimes people don't read everything already said..

I just wanted to let you know I just did this same kind of discussion so I hope this doesn't get deleted. I did mine a couple days ago I believe. I don't mind at all I just wanted to let you know that it might get deleted...
I have found the same thing and it is quite annoying. They only do it to make money. And MyLot to me is worth so much more than that! I love the people here and I love being able to vent about my offline life. It's nice to have friends I can talk to. And the money is just an extra bonus to me! =)

It only makes sense to read a discussion for how else can you have one, very true. That might be a problem for long discussion though and also while running down the comments some a person might skip over because the comment might not appeal to them. However, reading the op is really mandatory. Not getting much from the creator of the discussion tends to kill interest as well perhaps.

Haha, yes, I notice some of my responders are not reading my discussion at all. My discussion was very long so I guess they got lazy at reading. They only read the title(they usually answer those titles with questions) and they immediately answer the post. I think their reason is that they want to gain more post faster and have more time to type.
I often read the discussion. Sometimes just fast scanning, finding keywords or just the last part of the discussions. It would be very embarrassing to respond to a discussion and not being able to provide the response that was expected from me.

You make a fair point. Why would someone do that? doesn't make sense does it? I have to say that in my brief experience of MyLot to date, the people who have responded to my discussions have obviously read them.

I've notice this on my latest thread. Somebody posted a response that is absolutely irrelevant to what we've discussed. I responded him that his comment was off the topic. I guess, we should be more responsible on responding to topics. Do it not just for money but to share your opinion on what is talking about.
