I ask this because I was just listening to Oprah talk about hearing this voice in her head with regards to the way she treated James Frye ,an author who passed a partly fictional book as an autobiography .
It led me to thinking if I too have this voice and what form it would take ...I wont tell what my introspection came up with however I will ask you to tell me if you have such a voice and what form that voice takes ?

I have two of those voices in me. The little bad one and the big good one. Sometimes the bad one will tell me soemting. Then the good one will tell me the opposite. The bad one usually wants me to take something without paying. But the good one will butt right in and explain all the reason i shouldnt listen to the bad one. I listen to the good one.

Hi ronnyb, It is always interesting to listen to Oprah, she has many wonderful guests and in many ways is far ahead of her time. The only voice that I have in my head is a "knowing" that I get when I go into the silence. I think of it as the still small voice within that helps me discern truth from fiction. We can all access this knowledge as it is within each and everyone of us. It takes patience and practice and a willingness to put aside many of our old beliefs. Oprah may of course be speaking of something else. Blessings.

theres really no voice but its just your own and with your thought its like your thinking... as it happens if you want to say words and you cant voice it out and you normally say it behind your mind like you talking to yourself without a voice coming out. you can even try it to yourself. normally if they cant control it that goes to insanity as they cant keep it inside of them and they voice it out answering their own like talking to themselves coz they cant control it inside. most of the time it happened to those who are loner and dont have sometime to talk to.
like what we are doing right now while answering to discussion here in mylot im talking inside my head trying to capture the thought i have to composed words and type those words here since im alone i cant voice it out as if someone hears me they might think im insane though of course you can also voice it out but of course we are scared that someone might heard the words we say so we normally say it to our self behind our head.

I think we all have. Some will call it conscience. To me it's: knowing/the answers. I always had it already as a kid. If I get tired of it I can ignore it for weeks or even years but sooner or later it comes back. I think because I need it.

hi ronnyb, I have often heard people famous and not famous talk about
the voice inside their head...I never thouught they were talking
literately...
For some reason I always they were talking about our
inner consciousness...the inhibiting sense of what is perspicacious,
perception and understanding...
I think it is like what some call a 6th sense...at least thats what
it means to me...and I think we all have it some stronger than others
but its our inner thoughts inside out head that we heard inside but
not a real voice outside....

yes your right its a self consciousness specially if we cant voice out the words we have in our mind we normally shout it inside like a thought. sometimes it also like answering our own question specially if we know the answer to it. i normally have it if im alone and im doing something like trying to solve something and im talking to myself though theres no voice but just like a thought and my tongue is moving inside like talking.

I have a voice in my head. At times it likes to sabatoge me! I have trouble with self-confidence and in the past year I have come to realize why I sabotage myself! I am trying to stop doing this but it is hard to change something you have been doing must of your life! It is like having a war with myself! Not all the time but so many times I don't even realize it! I'm my own worst enemeny! It sucks!

I have several voices in my head. Does that make me crazy?
The first is basically just an "inner voice" which is basically the things that I think but don't say aloud.
The others are mostly characters. I write fiction so I'm always thinking about the characters in the book I'm currently writing and thinking what they would do in certain situations to get to know them and such some sometimes it's easy to hear their "voice" and what they would think if they were real. It's a great way to get to know characters and make them real when writing.

Nope - no voices inside my head! I am very analytical and believe me I do a lot of thinking, but it's never in the form of a "voice". I will say when I think about other people or read their letters/emails, I do hear their voices . . . but that's about it. I like to do things my own way, so maybe it has something to do with that - I don't want to hear anyone else tell me what to do - ha ha!
