Milk before xray?

Do you think drinking milk before having xray done will help you clear your lungs from scars and spots? or is this just an urban legend? ?

I am quite sure that this is a fairly widely held 'old wives tale'. There is absolutely no evidence for it and, in any case, the milk goes into your stomach, not your lungs, so how could it possible have any effect? Why on earth would you want to hide abnormalities in an x-ray, anyway? The whole point is to discover any problems before they become life threatening!

Well Docmegzter, you are the one with Doc in their name...LOL... I have never heard of this but it sure would be interesting if it is true of an old urban legend as you said... When you find out the truth about this statement please post...I am sure a lot of mylotter are interested if its fact or fiction... I have a friend who is a X-ay tech and I will surely inquire to if she has or have not heard of this.. Have a great night......

hi Docmegzter I cannot for the life of me see how something you drank would affect your lungs at all. maybe ane x r a y of your tummy but not one of your lungs at all. milk has a tendency]to actually make a congestion in your chest worst as it causes even more phlegm.

I don't think milk will help clearing the lungs when drinking it before the xray. I think it's just and old wives tale. Also, this is the first time of hearing it so I really don't know about it.Maybe clearing the flabby tummy hehe peace
