I'm always fond of collecting stuffs... especially those that came from happy meal of McDonalds. Have you also experience gathering those toy freebies from fastfood chain? it made me realize that childhood isn't complete without stockpiling knicknacks from these kinds....

My kids like collecting them as well especially if it is of a desirable theme. If you leave them in the package in time they can become collectors items. You can also buy the toy with out buying the meal if need be.

Happy Kids - Happy are the child with toys.
I am not for I am too old for that but my kids do love collecting happy meal toys as well. In fact whenever we go to Mcdonald they don't really pay so much attention to eating but rather they are more concerned about what happy meal toys they could get. Sometimes I'd even warn them that they can't get toys unless they finish their meal. I think toys are what make children happy. Toys are their life so I always give them what they want provided they will be obedient children.

Well Happy Meals are great for non sense toys of course. So the other day there were these strawberry shortcake dolls and spoons and the twin girls loved them so much. They want to use them right up and right away of course and i swear the spoons smelt like strawberrys it was so cute too. I remember when i younger getting barbie dolls and little stuffed animals and im not sure what i did with them but of course im sure something but the stuffed animals were given to my dog who loves them and still plays with them. He is tiny and likes the tiny little stuffed animals.

Hi Docmegzter... my daughters loves all the McDo toys, not only that it is cute but also because it is durable. They are very fortunate that my auntie and a sister in law living in U.S. are collecting and sending the toys to them. Last December, they received one box of McDo toys, with My Pony Collections, little dolls, cars, neopets, little stuff toy, etc. There are only 4 kids in the family, so everyone are very much happy that they each received what they wished for. There are also handheld games and my daughter's favorite is a neopet handheld games which is like the old tamaguchi toy. We have a McDo stores too here in the Philippines, but the toys are not like the one you have in U.S. Here, it is just some silly stuff, does not have a good materials and not worth collecting.

Oh yes...not me but i get it for my daughter, whenever there is a new add on TV showing a new toy, she starts, thing is she is not bothered about the burger or the drink she gets with it, i end up eating them, she is interested only in the toy and she gets one or two every month, sometimes she plays and breaks them off and sometimes if it is her favourite ones, she keeps them safe, she has now around 30 toys with her which are her best ones

Hi Docmegzter, For children to collect such things I can understand as they want to play with them. Their friends have them and they think it's really cool to have them as well. However what I don't quite understand is why grown ups would want to collect such stuff. It's a fad and fad quickly fades. There is no value in such things and they will take up valuable space and gather much dust. Come spring cleaning time they will have to be thrown away. What a waste of money and time! I may be wrong. Do you know of any compelling reasons on why they would want to collect such stuff?

I haven't bought a happy meal in years! The last one I bought was like 7 years ago. The toys are pretty cute but I liked the toys better a long time ago. They use to have these small robot dogs when they were popular. Then they had a Snoopy collection and I loved collecting them. Now the toys are way smaller and not that great to look at but it's still nice to have a collection of them. My friend who is the same age as me still eats Happy meals. One time, the employee forgot to put a toy in my friend's Happy meal thinking that she was way too old for toys but my friend stopped her and asked for one. I have no idea what she does with those toys. Happy meals do remind me of my childhood but back then the burgers use to be bigger! Now they've shrunk!

I had collected toys from them last 2011 and those were the smurfs. I wanted to have those minions last year but I wasn't able to buy from McDonalds.
