Last Sunday , i was mending a short of my husband in our bedroom , when i heard my mother-in-law calling me frantically. I hurriedly went to the kitchen where she is since it's merienda time. She was pointing at the plug of the refrigerator and saw it smoking and burnt! I hurriedly went upstairs to shut off its breaker. But she said she already did. She said the plug suddenly burned and it's a good thing she was alert and shut off its breaker. I was so nervous that my knees felt so weak , realizing that the house could have been burned if ever it happened that i am also at the office like my husband and my parents in-law went malling, which they always do. I thanked God, that it didn't happen that way and i am sure he won't allow it to happen because i always pray at all times for the house to be safe at all times whenever we are out!

I always have that nagging feeling everytime I leave the house that there might be some electrical appliance that has not been shut off. That's why I'm always the last to go, and always the last one turning off stuff in the house. It's great that nothing more came out of that incident with the fridge. As long as there is no faulty wiring, you shouldn't worry about it.

That burning incident of the plug, made us more cautious now. My in-laws too , whenever they now go out of the house for a longer time, would have , even the refrigerator unplugged. At least our minds are at peace that way.

Yeah, i admire my mother-in-law's calm disposition. She cannot even be seen for any distraught feeling after that, while i was already so nervous!

That was a really scary thing to happen simplyd. Good thing you are all home that time or your house could have been burnt if not noticed right away. I'd say it is something to be thankful. And also, you may want to have your electrical lines check by an electrician for safety purposes

Yes, this week-end we will have all our electrical lines checked. Meanwhile , we used the other standby refrigerator and plugged it in a different line. Yesterday, my in-laws said they unplugged the refrigerator when they went out for a visit to their doctors. Well, at least they now learn their lesson too.

Good thing that your house was not burn. Maybe you should check your house wiring's to avoid any accidents in the future. And make sure before leaving the house you unplug or turn off all your unnecessary appliances.

My husband and i whenever we go to our respective works, would really unplug all the appliances in our bedroom. However, we fear that my -in-laws being already old and forgetful might forget unplugging the appliances in the whole house, whenever they go out for some things to attend to in the city. I would even be shocked to know sometimes , when i arrived home from work that the water pump was left running, even when they are done with it and just watching TV idly. Just imagine the electric bill it incurred. Thus, after the incident my husband strictly instructed them , to never leave the house without unplugging all the appliances. But of course , i have doubts because they are forgetful already, so i would always pray for our house's safety.
