I think, all of you just know this latest news of an Italian captain escaped for his life and regardless of his passager's safty when his tanker was sinking. Anyway, I'm extremly angry with his behavior, he is not qualified to serve as a captain, it would be deserved of to sentencing to life imprisonment. What do you comment with this captain?

I can't judge the captain as I don't know what really happen...one thing is to be there and put your self in his shoes! I think the ship company is a fault here if you got more passengers than boats then that is the company's fault the same with the Titanic!

One thing is, I believe, incontestable, as a cruise captain, he deserted his post when the disaster happens, no matter what reasons are.

We've all heard that the captain is 'supposed to go down with his ship', but he is a human being after all. How do you think you would react if you were in his situation? I'm not saying that what he did was right, but he has to live with the consequences of his actions and I'm sure justice will be meted out in due course.

Not all people can be an captain, if someone is, then he/she must be trained professionally and passed many rigorous examinations. So his escape owns to human instinct, that is an insufficient reason.

I agree that the passengers have must faced a horrible situation as the captain flew away leaving the ship and it may seem that it is not a mighty behavior by the captain. But if we think logically is not he a human being too? He may also have family. And it is human instinct that whenever someone feels a threat to his/her life he/she try to save his own life first.

Yes, you are right, everyone have their family, it's really human instinct, all over the world regard his escape as human instinct. But considering professional ethics, this Italian captain is extramely irresponsibile, I guess, he must be trainned strictly before he acts as a curise captain, he must know what to do and what not to do, morever. So no matter what other reasons are, at least it can be said he is really a criminal.
