Lately my husband and I went to watch a movie caled The Flowers of War. I knew it was a sad movie about the war. So I brought lots of tissue to the cinema as I knew I needed it badly. I will not avoid watching sad movies. As long as the movies make me cry, at least they are the nice movies.

Hi! In my opinion we can enjoy laughter and tears as well.We can enjoy sad feelings also,it gives us a different kind of feelings of love, oneness and as if the sorrow is our own.We can feel it and be happy .
But I personally don't like war movies. There is violence involved, though unreal.I like good comedy movies also.

Very much like one of my sister. She dislike to watch sad movies as she will get tears so she rather watch action and fantasy genre of movies. She said that is the best way to release stress~ She don't want to feel so tense that is why she will try to avoid such movies as much as she could.(^^)

I know this probably sounds soppy coming from a guys perspective but I love movies that make me cry, mainly because I find it so difficult to cry, I was always taught as a very young child that boys should never cry. You know in my older years if I was able to cry it would have healed me and made me feel stronger. I cried when I went to see Titanic in the movies, there are not many movies that bring me to tears. Occasionally there is a story line which is similar to my life and that helps. I can truly say that Titanic was the only film I went to see in a cinema that truly made me cry! Especially the bit when Jack drowns!

hi wolfie my son and my deceased hub y also wiped tears from their eyes when we watched titanic so guys can cry too and both of them are very masculine . I think its wrong to teach boys never to cry.I used to work in ER and I watched one child in pain almost go into convulsions to keep from crying as his dad told him boys do not
cry . He had been badly injured when a car hit him on his bike. I wanted to yell at the dad, hes in pain let him cry but of course I could not do that but the boy grabbed my hand and hung on so it seemed to give him comfort.

No, not at all; I'm a very romantic person. I love a lot of movies of every kind; but I'd say my favourite movies of all are the sad ones; I love romantic tragedies; I love to cry in movies, although I also find it painful to do so. And sometimes I find myself wishing for a happy ending. And yet...my favourite romantic tragedies of all do not have happy endings.

Having said that...I have not been to the movies since 2007. I prefer to watch movies on my computer or through my DVD player.

I prefer a good sad ending than a tacked on happy one. But many will not go to a movie with a sad ending.

Hatley, it is the suits, the owners of the movie studios. They fear A Real ending so they try to " make it better" only to turn off the real fans of the book and never attracting non fans.

Hi... I do not really like to watch sad movies... Once, I remember, I cried so much while watching a young kid suffer in the movie that the people sitting beside me had to calm me down and a girl rumbled through her purse for tissue papers... It is so embarrassing... LOL

I usually watch sad movies at home when I am alone. Hubby does not want to go to the cinema if its a love story or a drama flick that we will be watching. So I would draw the curtains, get a pitcher of water (because I am asthmatic so I can't really sob that much) and a towel. Yes, a towel because tissues are bad for me because of their fiber. Then I sit back, enjoy and cry my eyes out on scenes that really touch my heart.

I'll watch any kind of movie at the cinema. There has been movies that have made me cry too and i just wipe my tears and usually my boyfriend doesn't notice that i'm crying. I try 2 hide it from him lol. But sad movies don't stop me from going to the theatre. I love all kinds of movies.

If a movie is making you cry, then that movie is surely consisting of a nice star cast with awesome performances by each!
I am also having same case with my father. Every sad scene makes him cry. He's so sentimental regarding such things.
I don't stop watching them, but I try to see such movies with him, as I can't see him cry!

The Flowers of War,I have heard of it before, which is directed by Zhang Yimou, but I haven't watched it.I have not gone to the movies for ages.I am the type of person that tend to be carried away by my emotions.I can't say for sure I am able to control myself when watching it.

I don't like watching sad movies. It is too depressing for my taste. I enjoy the action movies and the disaster movies where lives are saved due to some heroic deeds. I also like the superhuman movies like Superman or Wolverine. I don't go for romantic films either. I am inclined to these kind of movies that the male population prefer because of my partner. However, it is not just to please him since I really enjoy this kinds of films.

I personally do not like to watch sad movies. They usually make me feel bad after watching them so I prefer to watch movies that are more for entertainment and to make me feel good and happy after watching. I like a good romantic comedy, an action film or a suspenseful movie. Those are the kind I like the best.

No, I won't avoid sad movies. I like movies that have a full gambit of emotions in them. It is good to cry and these movies that make us cry are very memorable. I remember when I first saw The Notebook I cried. A wonderful story.

I am not a fan of drama shows or movies because if I want to cry or have a heavy feeling, I'll just think of the problem that I am facing instead of paying for one :) Also, why would I make myself sad if I can be happy? I'll just wait for it to be shown in the local channels.
