You're not alone lekhya! I suffer the same. I think this will be here for me until I grow old. Not only that I have such dark circles under my eyes it looks a bit swelling for me too. Well, actually the thing that you can do is put on some cucumbers on your eyes. Try to sleep early too so the darkness may be reduced. For me all these things aren't taking any effect. So what I normally do is to put on some concealers on those dark circles so it would not be too noticeable for others.

Hi zaahro, That is one thing. I spend too much time on the computer. But you know, even before Internet and computer became addicting for me - and we still don't have both of these before, I already have these eye bags.

Hi dears! Same is the case with me too.i had them genetically. My father has them.My sister and me are now promoting them and carrying forward to the next generations to come.My sister doesn't have prominent dark circles, as much as i do. But these are getting worst when i don't get enough rest and when im under pressure.I usually have a lot of work at office, now that im on leave i could spend time with friends like u on mylot.Im a design engineer and have to do my work on system only. I don't know what to do when my leave expires. I think i also have to try concealers as enelym said, if i don't get time for those tips.Vitamin E is very good for eyes,a doctor suggested me.I have to start having vitamin E supplements like fish, or else tablets to prevent them.

Hummm...enelym001 maybe it is because you spend much time in front of computer. Try to reduce the frequency in using computer or it will tire your eyes. Consume vitamins and fruit that good for eyes :)

Welcome to mylot lekhya! The problem with dark circles or eyebags is that it can never be removed unless done surgically. I was curious one time and i looked at the net on how much a blepharoplasty would cost... dang it costs 150thou pesos each eye! eeewwwrrr!

Whoah for each???? My! that was pretty expensive. And of course no one would actually agree with having a surgery removing one eye bag only. It would look weird if one eye has dark circles and one eye is clear It's the first time I heard about surgery for this - But I will never try it even though I have such dark circles too.

Oh my!!! Now i don't want to undergo heart surgery for the sake of my eye surgery... IS THAT SO...never heard of this.S Its better i end this discussion here itself, if there is no cure for that. When ever i go to a beauty parlor(i have tried many)each one gives their own products...now i feel they are experimenting on me! I don't know if anybody has underwent this surgery till now...but if anybody has then that person might be the heir of King Midas!

Hi lekhya. Incidentally, I have just read a similar discussion like this here posted by another young lady from India.I understand you are from the same country. I have observed that Indian women have deep seated eyes, and that gives an impression of dark circles or a shadowy complexion under your eyes. Honestly, I found deep seated eyes beautiful as it reflects your unique beauty. TRULY, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...Your 'problem' is a natural thing which for me is a 'natural beauty'...It is the way you look at it. Your distinct beauty should give you confidence and not the other way around. However, if lessening that shadowy circles will add to your confidence, you can apply a thin eye-make up to make it appear lighter. Focus on the other part of your eyes that you can emphasize as to cover up that part that you don't like. Look at your eyes as a total package and avoid focusing on the smaller 'flaws' (I honestly don't even consider it flaws)...

Thanks a lot alicia! Im being an indian, don't agree to your point that indian women have deep seated eyes,They infact have very broad and big eyes.May be the lady you mentioned might also be having the same problem.Every person has their own opinion for beauty,u might be liking deep seated eyes..but i don't.Anyways,Thanks a lot for ur compliments and motivation. But beauty as u said is in the eyes of the beholder. That's y im worried? My eyes..oh god! i can't stop regretting for them.I will definitely stop to try concentrating on them. The people around me are making me restless. They keep on asking me to take rest and do something for my eyes?I really get irritated when someone comments me about my eyes...

Do you wear make-up? If you do there are concealers that may help you..and even if you DON'T wear make-up you can use a concealer that matches your skin tone and that's fine too. They're brilliant for dark circles, in my opinion but they're only a quick fix, they won't remove them permanently..obviously. The concealer that well-off people rave about is YSL's Touche Eclat but it's difficult finding that cheap. I used it myself when it WAS cheap a couple of years ago on a website I use a lot called Cheap Smells. No doubt there are cheaper alternatives but the YSL one is about £20!

Hi... I don't wear make-up.It creates artificiality to one's original beauty. If if any of those tips doesn't work then definitely i have to go for those concealers as u suggested. But Thats expensive in our rupees.I will have a visit to that website. Thanks Janey.

i think u can use juice of cucumbers on your eyes..and leave it for 20mins then wash it with plain water .... and one another thing you can try which is almond oil... massage almond oil on your eyes very softly then wipe out with cotton... you try both of things alternative day ... i am sure it help you a lot...

Are you a coffee drinker? Because if you are and if you drink large quantities, then I would suggest that you tone down. Coffee sometimes causes these dark circles under our eyes. Also make sure that you are getting enough rest.

I also have dark circles around my eyes and it seems it run in my genes. My Mom and so does my sisters have the same. I think this can't be removed at all. If this is the same thing with you then the best thing you can do is not to further aggravate the condition. Just maintain a fresh look even with those dark circles around. Making it darker is not good so always have enough sleep, and make sure to do some refreshing treatment on your eyes even at home. The old, old method of putting cold slice of cucumber on each eye for at least 20 to 30 minutes are effective for me and to many people. Have you tried this? Nope it will not remove the dark circles but it will remove the tired look from you.

Thanks salonga! Mine is genetic too.So i don't think i can remove them permanently but want to reduce their prominence on my face.I have tried that cucumber one many times but it doesn't stay on my eyes. It slips of my face.I have to try cucumber paste instead as i have deep seated eyes and do proper massaging.Im also planning to use Vitamin-e PILLS for massaging my eyes as my family doctor suggested. But i haven't started anything yet.

I get dark circles under my eyes as well, but normally, if I am able to get more rest and lessen the stress in my life, they tend to fade a little. I read somewhere that the dark circles are largely due to the skin under the eyes being so much thinner than the skin on the resy of the face, thus making the blood vessels in that area more prominent. The trick is to get those blood vessels to shrink a bit to become less visible. The reason so many people recommend cucumber is because it has a cooling effect and the coolness helps to shrink those blood vessels. It has never worked for me, but it does for many others. I recently found that if I place a cold rag on my eyes after I wash my face for about 5 minutes or, at the very least, splash my face with cold water, paying attention to my eyes, it does help to minimize the dark circles under my eyes. I also use a concealer when I apply my make-up. I use a yellow concealer under my eyes, and then use a slighly pink tinted one over that. Once I finish applying my foudation and the rest of my make-up. the dark circles appear almost completely non-existent.

Do you mean blackheads? Well I can say minimize eating oily foods. And always clean your face twice a day only. One in the morning and one before sleeping because to much washing can dry your face and leave your skin-pore open that is where the bacteria comes in and becomes acne.
