short cut ways to message.....!!!

I only use short cut words through text for faster replies, But I try to avoid it because It can affect someones spelling and grammar if you'll get on using it! I have experience this disadvantages. Although here are some short words that I use: OMG - oh my gush! GUD PM/AM - good afternoon or good evening. good morning TX - text # or No.- number OK - okay U - you

You mean , texting language?? I rarely write them when i text , i guess no. I do certain ones like , brb , g2g , fml ,wth,wtf,smd - some of them are abusice though...can't think of anything at the moment

Hi shskumbla: I use some of them in spanish, specially when I am using my twitter account where space is so limited. But in general I don't like to use these short cut ways to message in my chat because it looks bad and it's not the proper way to write in your language. ALVARO

Well I don't use them often especially not when I am here in mylot.I think we should use it properly or choose the right place and time to use it.I only abbreviate messages whenever I text or chat in chatboxes like the once in facebook.But whenever I am here in mylot I see to it that I use complete words and not the shortcuts.

Yep I do sometimes use the short forms of the words but its usually while texting someone. Like omg for "oh my god" and ttyl for "talk to you later" and tmi for "too much information" and stuffs like that.

Yes if I was texting someone - rarely use it though. But I will avoid use it when I am on my computer. No need to short any words, I think - as we can easily type it.. And about example? I think there's no written agreement about how to shorten the words. Feel free to short it by your own style - as long as people can understand you xD.

Really shortcuts should not be used for messaging..this is the way that everyone use to destroy English.if you write shortcut ways,i think in exam you will write shortcut itself!!

I used to short cut words when creating a message in sending text or sms especially when I feel lazy to complete the word.I also used abbreviations like gtg,lol,c u and any way that I can make the message shorter.
