Creating apps

Recently my wife suggested that creating apps would be a good way for me to make some money as I know a lot about computers. The trouble is, I've never had a smart phone or a tablet computer so I'm pretty much clueless about apps. I don't know what I'm aiming at here, let alone how to actually do it. I've looked at a couple of sites, one tries to sell you a course on how to make apps and make money from them. I didn't like the very salesman type tone of this. Another is supposed to be a way to make free android apps but it didn't really explain how to do it. Does anybody know how to do this? Does anybody know any websites that make a good job of explaining this?

hi. i m also in your wife way. first of all you can make free apps on sites like appmakr or appgeyser without knowing any coding or programming. but the thing is you need to have apple or android account which cost $99 and $25 respectively. if you can pay that much to the respective company then you are on your way for making money. i am still investigating about apps business and i would give you more info. if you want the app course, then i would suggest you app code from amish shah which may cost you $997. Cheers.

I suppose I could look at those sites. I do know a fair bit about coding and graphics so I could probably do better than most people if I knew how the coding worked for apps. Also I still don't know what I'm aiming at and know very little about what apps are already out there so I can't really think of an idea for an app. The course sounds rather expensive and I don't know if that would help.

i've never do a programming before but i've read that for popular gadget like iphone or android you can test your program on your PC using a simulator that they give you along with their SDK... maybe for starter you could buy an ebook that explain about iphone programming or android programming so you got a good structured explaination on how to make a program on them.
