If at all possible, getting away from the situation as far as possible. There are times where people just seem to take a rather great pleasure of pushing pretty much every button that you could imagine. It is rather frustrating to say the very least where they are going to keep hammering buttons that will make you agitated and rather prone to explosions.
However when someone rather is going to irritate me to say the very least, I have an idea what they might be trying to intentionally do. To push my buttons, therefore, I am just going to be likely to walk away and rather hopefully calm down. Failing that take a deep breath and keep my temper in check, should it not rather lash out from anyone. People will be irritating to say the very least. Its best not to really get to you.

I am so used to this! In my chosen field, patience is a real VIRTUE! Whenever I have someone that irritates me, I am giving him first the stare method. I'll make sure I have eye contact to him until he realizes that I am irritated already. If this won't work, I will go near him and make my presence felt and if it still won't work, I'll just send him out of the room until I'm done with the discussion.

It is said that when you close your eyes, the anger will relieve much quicker. I think every time somebody irritates you, just think about these question--does he/she deserve my anger? Is it worthy to care about his behavior? Good is rewarded and evil is punished.

Just ignore the person. It is not good for your heart and for your face too. I think being irritated is a choice. If we want not to be irritated, we can always do something so we could not be. The best way is is to ignore the person. In most cases the more we get irritated the more the person rejoices so why give place to his rejoicing? Ignore and see how he will stop when he noticed you are not affected at all.

I agree with the other respondents here.
Just ignore the person. Exercise as much
patience and tolerance you can have. Most
of the times giving in to your temper only
brings quarrels and lots of troubles. Thus,
frequently not worth it. Save your energy
and time to other things that need your
attention. Keep cool and calm.
