Do any of you do vermiculture?

After I get into my new house I plan on having a vermiculture going. That is a worm bin to help get rid of table scaps that will eventually go into the garden that I am planning. It will either be under the kitchen sink or in another easily accessable area. It might even be near the fish room that I am planning so that I can feed some of the worms to the fish to help them get into breeding condition. I also am thinking about raising rabbits so that the rabbit manure will go into the worm bin to make more compost/worm castings for the garden.

No, I haven't but I've often thought about it. There's no place near the kitchen where I can keep anything like that, or I would. It would make sense to have rabbits, too. I know people have raised worms under their rabbit cages, which would make it a little less work. And a fish room? Would that be for eating fish, or just having them?

I raise tropical fish and in my new home, I wish to raise some that will sell for profit to pet shops and other people in the clubs that i belong to so that the hobby will more than just pay for itself. I have though abut raising the worms under the cages but think about the ammonia from the urine.

If I could seperate the manure from the urine that would be a way to go but that would probably mean having a screen that lets urine go through but the manure will go to a seperate area

Oh, I see. Interesting! I don't know about the urine; I just know that some people do it. Maybe it has to do with air circulation in how the cages are spaced? I really don't know.
