This question really makes me feel bad.
A world without computers will be like a horse without horseshoe, thanks to the inventor of computer otherwise i would not be able to sit at my place and interact with all of you friends.
In realty if such situation comes i think the whole world will quit their work as every work today needs computer at any point whatever it may be.
By looking current situation i can say one thing for sure if such situation comes the world will definitely end.

I have been away for some days, and believe me I am boring as hell without computer. The first thing I do when I get home is to open my computer.

I actually remember the days when the world was not ran by computers. I grew up in the 1980’s, and I graduated from high school in 1996. I remember when about the only video games people had at home were the ATARI, and I remember when the original Nintendo game system was introduced. We also can’t forget the old Commodore 64 computer systems, although I never had one.
When I was a kid, we didn’t have a computer in my home. I did have an ATARI (2600 I think it was), and I had the original Nintendo system when it came out. Looking back now, the graphics really sucked, but at the time, that was all we knew, so we didn’t have the standards of today to compare them to. I actually remember when we got our first microwave oven, and my first TV in my bedroom was an old black&white model. LOL
We have definitely come a long way since then, and most jobs these days are dependent upon computers. However, I have to disagree with you that the world would come to an end if all the computers in the world were to cease to operate. While a lot of jobs these days would be almost impossible to do without a computer, not having computers would only be an inconvenience for most industries. There are ways to do most things without computers, but things would drastically slow down.
The airline industry and the medical profession would be drastically impacted, because most all flight reservations and medical records are kept on computers. Computers are also vital for navigating airplanes to their destinations, and for the diagnosing and treatment of patients in hospitals. I am not sure how these industries would cope with the loss of computers. Another industry that would be almost impossible to operate would different types of manufacturing. Most factories are computer automated. However, people were building things in factories and doing other jobs before the days of computers, and as with most other things, it would take a lot longer in most cases, but we could go back to those days if we had to, even if it meant figuring out ways to do things in a simpler manner.

Yes, I totally agree to you.
Without the computer, we can not survive or our life will be very tough.
Starting from a simple arithmetic, we need a simple computer named calculator to resolve many arithmetic problems for us.
No matter how, there are pros and cons with this computer.
The bad things about computer are the youngsters spend most of their times in computer games and so on. They neglect their outdoor activities.
The good things about computer are our lives will be more advance, more convenient and so on.
Anyhow, we shall use this technology wisely, then we shall realize the important of this computer to us.

The same goes with me. I am with my computer like almost 10 hours per day and I cannot think of doing anything else when I have some extra time. I cannot think of a day when I cannot use my computer - it simply makes me feel bad.

I grew up in a world where nobody had computers at home. They were used in big business and country's security, but they were huge machines that couldn't have been used at home anyway. I think computers are great, but I don't think the world would end if there weren't any.. _Derek

Hi vineeshdon!, i was born in the fifties, in highschool in the seventies and working in the eighties, we don't have computer at that time but we were able to pass our studies and do our work in the office. Of course the computer was a great help and it really made our life easier than we think but i would say that we will not miss the things that we did not have before. If we don't have a computer today, do you think we will miss it if it is gone? Therefore, humans knows how to adjust to every situation and if ever time will come that all of these gadgets will be gone, i am sure we can still survive.

So the world will end when there is no computers?? Just kidding~(^^)
A world without the computers will still make us moving, working and interacting but it will get slower and consume more time like we get back to the old days. If we can live without computers before of course we can continue live when something happen to it but again it will take time to adapt ourselves to the situation back. I can imagine the world will get hurly-burly when computers are not working. Lets hope it won't happen~(^^)

All the things computers have allowed me to do that I couldn't do before makes me thankful for them. Only the corporate world and hackers have made a negative impact upon it. I don't think the world will end because of the lack of being able to use them, it would just be different. I remember life before them and could do it again. I have an online world and offline. I haven't forgotten the offline world. I wasn't raised with it.

I sometimes wonder what the world would be like without computers also. I think back to when I was a kid and I didn't have any type of computer or Internet access. It was easier back then because as a child I played outside a lot with my cousins and friends. I agree with you though, the world was literally shut down if there weren't computers anymore. It's amazing how dependent we as a people have become on technology.

I told myself before, i could not live my life with computer. Computer is my life. LOL. I always say that to myself, especially when boredom strikes me. And for me, computer makes things easy for me like doing some report and cases. The internet also is a big help. But with or without internet, i still love computer.

I'll be damn! If it happens the world will stop revolving. Just kidding. But everybody depends on computer nowadays. But come to think how did the group of Binladin survive? For what i have heard they don't used any kinds of computers at all. Because if they do they can be trace easily.

for me, computer is now the spinal cord of our everyday life. if this is taken out everything will come to a stand still, because every business, education, and all other things make use of computer and it has reach a stage where you can only use computer to do certain things. without computer, there is no way forward
