Pepe has been hailed as a villain in the Spanish press after he stamped intentionally on Messi during the El-Classico match in the Copa Del Rey. Pepe took out his frustrations at Messi by stamping his hand, but was lucky not to be sent off as the referee missed it. The matter has already been referred for video evidences panel for delayed action.
What do you think of this unsportsmanlike conduct of Pepe?
Cheers!
Ram

I didn't see the scene because I didn't watch the match.
And I also have no intention to try looking for the video.
I'll try to see it from Pepe's point of view. I don't mean to say that what he's done is right thing to do. But I think it's very frustrating for him to stop Messi. But he should have done it in positive way.
I also give respect for Pep and Mou. Both of them not accusing Pepe directly, but leaves the board to investigate well. Means that they weren't defending or judging anyone.
We should follow their attitude as well. :)

Personally, I'm more upset by Pepe's diving.
I've watched videos regarding this said moment and as far as I can tell, it looked like Pepe didn't mean to stamp on Messi's hand. If he really did, I'm pretty sure it wasn't because he wanted to injure Messi but rather because he was frustrated. I don't condone his actions, but as I said, I'm more upset by the diving.

Pepe is one of the best defenders of Real Madrid and the Portugal national team - he IS a football player. Yes, he might let his emotions get the best of him, but that doesn't mean that he isn't good in what he does. He is an effective defender most of the time, and taking that away from him is just not right. I hope that he does indeed cool down, apologize and take responsibilities for his actions, never do them again, and move on.

I think it was a punk move abd he should be barred from playing the rest of the season Before people in the street take justice into their own hands. This is Soccer/ football. Isn't this the sport where a player was killed for losing the game?

This was really terrible act against best player in the world. He clearly seems to did it in purpose and there was no co incident if we seen on television screen. Mourinho said that he did not noticed about Pepe action but will not defends Pepe if found his really doing it. Guardiola also not offense Pepe on doing it. However, this is really unacceptable action and hurt fair play philosophy. Understand players like Messi, Maradona, Del Piero or any other player who has incredible dribbling and skillful always got this kind of rough treatment from opponents, to stop them by scoring goal..I am really condemn this kind of act and ruin up the beautiful of football match..so I hope FIFA will back and give him warning and heavy punishment otherwise we will see many more violation likr this in the future...

I hate this kind of losers who tries to play football with such cheap activity.
I mean whats this? If you can not stop him in a skilled way then you will do such kind of rubbish in field? I think he must be punished so that others will think twice in future before doing such cheap unsporting activity.

He is doing such kind of stuff repeatedly. Seems like he dont know the difference between wrestling and soccer. Some strict step must be taken to clear his doubts about the difference.

What Pepe did could not be justified under any circumstance. What will happen assuming Messi had suffered some fracture in his hand that will prevent him from playing for sometime? Is there a way some disciplinary action can still be taken against Pepe for his recklessness? Football is a game, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Players should allow FIFA fair play be the guiding principle as they ply their trade. One hopes this type of shameful action won't happen again.

i really hate Pepe when he do like that..
it`s not the first time he do brutality like that
i know tackle is the important part from football..but it was not tackle..
it was a action for making injury his opponent..
the referee should give him red card i think

Whilst I certainly don't condone what Pepe and other Real Madrid players have done in recent el Clasico's I do feel that Barca players also have a lot to answer for. They too have made bad challenges and have dived about the place yet are still praised.
