I was wandering around mylot deciding what to respond to, when I came across the no responses tab. It got me thinking about how many of my discussions had no responses and the fact that while I would like to resolve them, there are just too many to tackle in one day (or one week) for that matter. Most of the dicsussions with no responses in my profile, are from when I first started on here, and after reading some of them, I couldn't understand why there were no responses. Then this got me thinking that I am probably not the only one with discussions that have no responses so I decided to check. I was surprised to see that there are hundreds of discussions that have no responses. So today I decided to ask my fellow mylotters for a little help. It's great to respond to the discussions that are New or Hot here, but what about giving the no responses tab a look? You would be surprised to see that many of them are intersting and worth a look. Today I have decided that while I will continue to do what I always do on here, I will aslo make an effort to respond to as many no response discussions that I can. I am also going to spend the next few days trying to resolve my discussions as well. What about you? Do you ever look at these discussions? Why or why not? What is it that makes you decide that you want to respond to someone's discussion? Do you think that we should have the option to delete discussions that are unresponded to if there are more than a year old? Why or why not? For me personally I would like the option of deleting my own discussions if I feel that they are not worthy of being on here. Just a thought.

Hi CRIVAS
I dont know why it is so that some discussions gather no response at all from the lotters. I decided I won't start any more discussions since mine couldn't get any response too.
I guess you should thank the other guy who responded earlier than me. Otherwise this one would have been in the no response list as well....

Sometimes it just depends on the time of day that you post. if a lot of people are here you are more likely to get a response.

Hi GardenGerty
Yeah.. it may be one of the reasons but still, I have a lot of friends who would respond to my discussions whenever I start one. But it wasn't the case this time.
It may be because sometimes when you read a discussion you may agree to it completely but can't come up with something to respond to it. Probably nothing struck them at that time and they thought of responding later but have forgot about it as there are tons of discussions going on...

I have on occasion looked at the no response tab. I am not as fortunate as you to find really good discussions there. You are right, sometimes they occur when people are very new as they have no friends to try to respond to them. Since I have started back to work full time I do not have as much time to wander around MyLot. You can always ask that one of your discussions be deleted if there is a really good reason, by hitting the ! button and telling admin about it. Hopefully, after this discussion, some of your unresponded discussions will be tackled by your friends.

I am new to Mylot, and the thought had never occurred to me to check out the "No Responses" tab. Thank you for the tip! I'm still getting a hang of the site, and I've always had a soft spot for people being ignored. I'd love to help people feel welcome and enjoy their time here. Thank you again.

Very often I go to the no responses section, because I also think that every discussion (ok, 99% of the discussions) deserves a answer. Sometimes, there are discussion that I don't have anything to add, so, I don't answer anything, but there are plenty of discussion that are interesting and, for some reason, no one answered.
When I choose a discussion to answer, I choose a subject that I think is interesting and that I think that my answer can help the discussion otherwise I just move to other topic.

runi check the dos and don't of discussions as some here are not responded to simply because we older users can see they
have broken a guidelines rule. we do not like losing our responses and hence our earnings that way.so a word to the wise here.

I have just spent a few moments going through the no responses and it has made me feel a little better about myself that I have been able to give some of these people answers to their questions. Some of them have been up for a few weeks with no answers.
I have decided to start at the end of the list and work my way forward only answers the ones that I feel I can truly contribute to and hope that they will be resolved.

I am new here and this is my very first day. while browsing on possible discussions that I may join, I saw yours. And yes, I found it interesting. For a new comer like me, I opted to a topic that i can surely relate to. Not just to the one which is more talked about but for something that a simple person can understand and can provide idea.
I also saw some topics that are interested but i just can say that it is not in my level. I mean, topics that are more about being billionaire, gadgets that are most awaited and so on. For me, I found it not so interesting. I prefer topics that are more about life. Something that I can talk about freely based on my experiences and learning and not giving on opinions which others may say that I am wrong.

Hi there larribel..
I think your are right..there are really topics that we can't respond to becoz we don't know what to say and we haven't had any experience with it.It's really hard to tell a story when you don't experience anything about the topic yet.And I think to be able to help the person in need you must really have a knowledge on the problem or situation being discuss.

crivas I have tried the no responses but I have seen many that have broken rules and should be reported as no older user will respond to an iffy discussion where he or she is going to lose their response and their earnings as it will probably be deleted soon.as far as deleting your own discussions hit the exclamation point and tell mylot why you want them to delete your discussion and they may do it or if it has some responses they will likely not delete it but you can try this option.I seldom find a good discussion in the no responses as there is a reason for the no responses too./

I have about three or four discussions on here with no responses in them and it bothers me beacause i cant delete them and wish i could or have an option of doing so, it would make it easier and get it out of on munresolved discussions too. I have had a discussion with only one response and i made it the best even though it wasnt the best i thought and it made it get out of my unresolved discussions as well.
Now when in on mylot i usually am always trying to find something to respond to like this one, now i am picky i guess you can say when it comes to responding to ocertain discussions but i go through them like the ones in my intrest, friends have started the no response ones the hot ones and so on but i do go through all of them daily and look for ones i can respond to. I try to make an even amount of discussions and responses daily if i can and i try to respond as many as possible if i like alot.

Hi, Crivas, I was surprised when I discovered the "no responses" tab. I remember a fellow myLotter who wrote that sometimes he bothers to answer this discussion out of compassion for those who had started them. Sometimes I do this too thinking about my discussions without answers. Happy myLotting.

Hi there CRIVAS!!
I guess many discussion have no response yet coz some of our fellow mylotters have a different interest than the discussions with no response. It's is really hard to comment on a discussion sometimes especially when you are not interested with the topic or you can't understand what is being discussed.
It's not actually anyone's fault if many discussions are left unanswered. There are many mylotters here in mylot but they can't respond to all of the discussions being posted in this site.Sometimes I can only focus into one two interests per day and sometimes more.I guess it's just a matter of interest and mood.
Anyways, I guess I'll also try to answer some of the discussions that are still unanswered.I hope I can manage my time well..

I too go through the tab with no responses. My reasoning for this is that sometimes the really popular topics have so many posts that they just take too long to go through. And I also feel bad that there are people out there who don't get answers to their discussions and since I have been getting answers to mine, it is only fair to pay back and answer other users as well.
I agree there should be an option to remove discussions. I have been looking through some and there are some really pointless discussions out there.
