Actually I have all 3, as they each have their strengths, and weaknesses. Windows is easy to use, and is ubiquitous, so you really can't do without it. I do build my own machines, and I have noticed that the hardware requirements for a good, fast machine with Windows are a bit higher. The latest one I built has an 8 core processor and 8Gb RAM, and it is I must say the fastest machine I have. And you can't argue the fact that there is simply more software available for the Windows platform, and a lot of free offerings. Virus threats are of course highest on a Win box, so a good AV program is a must.
Right now I am replying on my MacBook Pro. This is without a doubt my favorite laptop. You can't beat the ergonomics of this machine, and the simple usefulness of the Mac platform. This is a Core i5 machine with 8GB RAM, so it is very snappy, and a pleasure to work on. It's battery life is very good, and I can't say enough about the Mag Safe adapter, that is such a great idea to keep your laptop on the desk if the cord gets pulled accidentally, while not falling out unnecessarily.
I have Linux distros on several laptops that are about 3-4 years old. They are all dual core machines with at least 4GB RAM in them. I really like using them for their speed, and for the amount of open source software available for them. Viruses while out there are not really a threat to them, and even when Linux updates it's kernel, it tells you once that you need to reboot the machine, and does not continue to annoy you to do so. Also the repository model for updates, and the fact that it does all it's updates at one time is a real plus. And Linux seems to suppor the most media types; I have never found a file that it can't play. I did some audio editing on one of my Linux machines earlier today and that was a breeze.
So I like them all, for different reasons. I can't ever envision myself with only one OS.

Yes very true. For me If you want a gaming experience go to windows. If you like to watch movies and play music go to mac. you want to have a freedom to chose go to linux it has Manny free software and it is easy to find one. The disclaim is that you must have a good knowledge about linux to do that is not easy to use linux is you are new to it. Over all the three OS is very good it is depend on your like what to use .

Linux (especially Ubuntu) has become much easier to use over the years. I forgot what having to install with a text based install was until I put Linux on a friends older machine that did not have enough memory to support a graphic install. In fact 2 of my Lenovo laptops I use regularly dual boot Windows and Linux, but spend most of the time in Linux. I even have a wireless printer linked to both of them, as Epson actually provides Linux drivers.
From using Linux a lot I have gotten familiar with the command line again. My first PC was DOS only, so you typed everything. It's kind of refreshing to use the terminal again in Linux. After you use it a bit, it's easier than searching through the package manager to find software. GDebi helped and a lot of the software is not pre-packaged, so you don't have to compile by hand, which can be a pain. Some of it is still a mystery, but what software doesn't keep secrets?
