so sorry Hatley. i know how you feel. it just seems like every time we get over one thing its another. yes i see people are telling you all the right things. im hopeing you can get some help from nurses and maybe a doctors advice this morning. as im late answering this from getting up really early with my same problem person here making lots of noise. i hope you are at this point sleeping well. people dont realise that rest is sometimes the best thing for us.

I wonder if there was some miscommunication as far as how often your take it or if you needed to take them with food. Are they too strong? Are you allergic to them? I have felt sick on them too and it was because I had been sleeping so much I had lost track of when I needed to take them. Hope you get it figured out soon.

Flushing your system by drinking more liquids will help the medication better do its job. It will wash our the poison that is making you sick.

Hi Hatley! Good to see you my friend! I see you over on mylot every now and then and neither of us say anything!?! LOL Now why is that?! I'll leave you to ponder that question because I don't have a clue to the answer. About your discussion, did you eat before taking it? If you didn't then that's the cause of your nauseated stomach. If you did eat then stop taking the medicine right away and call your doctor first thing in the morning because you're having an allergic reaction which can be deadly. It's just that important. Your doctor will note that in your records so you won't be prescribed it anymore and then call in a different type. I'm allergic to sulfer types of antibiotics. It really makes me very very ill. Happy mylotting and facebooking dear friend!

Hi Hately, if not serious don't take shelter of medicine. Wait at least seven days and take normal diet. Your physical organs will protect you and finally you will get rid of illness.

Is it penicillian? I know I can't take pure penicillian because I would throw up when I take it but I can take amoxicillian because its penicillian content isn't so strong. I went back to my doctor immediately and he changed it that same day because I wasn't keeping anything down at all. For you it may not be as bad as me and nausea is just a passing side effect that will go away on its own.

I am not really sure what it is but sipping cold water seems to be helping. I think it will taper off soon as I am hoping I have had nausea before with antibiotic but it wonly lasted an hour then stopped.

Ok sounds like it's a passing side effect so hopefully you'd be feeling better for sure by the morning. Deep breathing will relax your whole body including your stomach sometimes. Fluids are good for sipping on since you want to keep sipping to prevent dehydration.

Hi Hatley, I think you must have allergic to that antibiotic. I think you should inform the doctor or nurses that gave you the pill. That is what they call it side effect. It is better to have some light meal like porridge will make you feel better.

Are you supposed to have it with food? Some antibiotics are designed to have on an empty stomach while others indicate to be take with food. Others are to be taken with water while others with milk. Perhaps a call to the doctor with a description of your symptoms is in order. Maybe you're allergic? The possibilities are endless. Feel better Hatley! :)

Hi Hatley-hopefully you're feeling better...maybe the capsule strength needs changed if it's too strong,or there's some side effects getting to you? Some meds do need to be taken with food so that they're not landing in an empty stomach where that might be a problem...

that's not funny Hatley. i also get sick with antibiotics, and i just don't take them unless I really have to. but i guess that isn't an option for you at the moment. How about sipping fizzy pop, something like 7-up. that sometimes helps me with nausea.

Hi there Hatley, Wishing you're feeling much better now. The best that you can do about it is to ask your doctor about it and know why is there such an effect from you. As far as I know, drinking lots of water would be better. Make sure too that you never take antibiotics on an empty stomach.

OH, my dear Ms Hatley...am so glad you have been to the Dr..but sorry the antibiotics are nauseating you! Is it possible to access Ginger (fresh preferably) to make Ginger tea! Or have your son get you some Natural Gravol made with just GINGER! Seriously, this is not a "maybe" suggestion. Ginger is absolutely known for it's anti-nausea properties. The last abscessed tooth that I had...I finally went to a walk-in Clinic! The Dr. perscribed VERY STRONG antibiotics...but also said they would make me nauseous...and that's when I learned about the Organic GINGER Gravol, as he told me to take that too...to stop the vomiting from the pills. Worked really well, MsH. I now keep them (they are a lozenge form, very pleasant tasting( on hand at all times! GINGER teas do work well, too! YOu must keep them down! Keep us posted, dearheart!

in a pinch if the kitchen there has ginger you can sprinkle the powdered form into your tea. They even use ginger to fight nausea on ships, etc. Nice side effect is that it reduces pain like from arthritis.

So sorry to hear this is happening to you Hatley! You should call your doctor to let him/her know what's happening. They may change what you're taking, or change how and when you're taking it. Unless it's something specific, usually there are alternatives. Is is something you've taken before? When you do get to your doctor, have a note put into your file so that it won't be prescribed to you again. Wouldn't hurt to give have info to your pharmacist, too. Hope you're feeling better soon!

Ice cream might help with the coughing, and thus help the side pains, too. Worth a try, eh?

I hope that you feel better by now Hatley. I always make a cup of ginger or peppermint tea and this helps with both excess gas and nausea. the ginger is especially good for nausea. I am sure that you are taking the ills after meals? Please God you are better by now.

It was all right for you to take antibotic pill, but you got nauseated after taking the antibiotic capsule. It seems that the antibiotic capsule can't agree with you. Were they different types of antibiotic? You might as well eat a few slices of ginger which can regulate stomach to stop vomiting.

This has been 2 hours ago since you posted. I hope that you're doing fine now. If you are taking antibiotic, try to take it with food, so that it will not upset your stomach. Maybe your antibiotic is too strong. So as your doctor advice you drink plenty of water. get well soon my friend.
