Good day fellow mylotters,
I was in the supermarket this morning and I have seen a buyer who ask for assistance from the supermarket attendant to get dishwashing liquid stocks for her. Since she is using a yellow lemon scent dishwashing liquid and the the one left on the display area is green apple. As I am just wondering why some people are like that, they are making a big deal on the dishwashing liquid they will going to buy. I mean, why others insist to get the lemon scent and while not getting what is available. These two does not have a big difference except for the scent and the color of course. But other than those, they have same effect. Hence it is better to use the non-scented dishwashing liquids as the smell of it leaves on the surface of the plate or glass that being washed.

Hiya aira,
I find the Dishwashing liquid all the same too. I have tried two famous Brands and they do not live up to what they say at all.
Will not name the brands but I find other Dishwashing liquids last as long and if not longer than what the other say they do.
How I wish that they really did last that long but alas they do not.
So I end up buying the cheapest but the best I can find.
Usually buy it from Dia which is a big chain of Stores over here.
Lots of the other Brands are just watered down and not worth spending on at all.
Okay there are times if you are stuck that you will buy them but not if you stick to one Brand and that´s it.
The colour of it is all the same to me.
I ration the use of it out as well as the liquid is far too strong for the skin on the hands and dries the skin on the Hands very quickly too.xxx

It could be that she is allergic to the green apple scent. I do know that some brands especially house brands when they say Ultra you still have to add more to the water. But in her case, it could be the allergy factor or the odor. In other words, the green apple scent may be making her sick. NOw if i was cost, sometimes what is seen as a bargain, really is not.

Hi Airasheila, unless someone in the family is allergic to the green apple scent, I dont see what the fuss is all about.
As long as the price is the same, it really does not matter.
On the other hand, I think it is good of her to bring out the fact that the lemon scent item is not available.
At least the supermarket attendant can bring the items from the store.

Maybe, she doesn't want the smell of the other one although it will have the same effect on the dishes. I am also like her sometimes so I understand. Didn't want to buy something I haven't use for a while.

Because that is one of the characteristics of the girl. girls by nature wants the best, nice, cute thing... these could be her possible reasons: she has allergy with other scents other than lemon; lemon scent maybe is her favorite; the color of lemon is cute.... hehhe ( weird! ) but sometimes i am choosy too but its ok because i am a girl!

I thought they just made it harder, I mean sometime people look for a thing that is unavailable, like some of my friends they always want the thing they like, even they actually find the usage of it is the same, if we talk about preference it will be difficult, I mean everyone of us has it and of course it will not the same

I know that there are some people who will say that the brand does make a difference, but it really doesn't. I used to use sunlight dishwashing soap but one day I decided to try out the no name brand just to see if it was worth saving a little cash. It was. The no name worked just as good as the other stuff. Some people can be strange that way, if they have been buying a brand that they like, the often will not switch brands, and often times will even fuss about it just like the lady you saw. Personally I think that it is a waste of money to buy a brand name, when 80% of the time, the no name brand will work just as good if not better in some cases.

In all likelihood, green to her is an ubiquitous color while yellow do not offend as much. Sometimes it is bright and hot to combine white and green and I prefer more that green be superimposed over a black background but on the other hand yellow appears to be a complement of white as you can see with sunny side up eggs.

After I had lunched today, I ran out of dishwashing liquid. I was suppose to be having the last drop of it but there's no more. I just used detergent bar. So sad. We didn't have any stock left of dishwashing liquid. So much with that, I learned that I should not be choosy on a specific scent or brand of dishwashing liquid because they are all the same. As long as it can remove dirt and grease, it is alright already. Another thing I learned is that I should buy more packs so that I will not ran out of it. Better luck next time.
