Great weight loss forums

Until recently, I've been a bit worried about using weight loss forums. I figured that they'd either want to sell you something, or be full of zealots who'd make you feel about six inches tall for being overweight in the first place.
Last week, a friend recommended a forum she'd found, and said that it was great fun, and she'd picked up a lot of useful information, as well as motivation to keep going. Although the forum is run by a fitness coach and nutritionist, the guy actually has a sense of humour, and he realises that everyone is human, with human failings, so there's no laying on of guilt trips, or making you feel inadequate for eating an extra calorie or two.
Being the cynical soul I am, I thought this sounded too good to be true, so I headed over to investigate. I'm not really much of a one for forums - apart from MyLot of course - so I wasn't expecting much. However, I was very pleasantly surprised. There's a lot of good advice there, and a real sense of community - just like MyLot in fact. Here's the link if you want to take a look:

This is not a referral link, and I get nothing from it, apart from the satisfaction of knowing I've pointed other MyLotters towards a useful site. So, can you recommend any good weight loss forums? Or are there any that are best avoided? I'm sure lots of us would like to hear your recommendations.

Hello, Kyle2krystel. It really is a great website. Several of the members have also started blogs. It's one of the most supportive weight loss forums I've found, and it's not full of annoying adverts, which is a real bonus.

Forums are a great place to get inspiration and support for different things. And I guess weight loss is one of them. I never looked for any drums like that, but I am sure they're are people there that are going through the same things. I know how hard it is to lose weight, I have been there and done that. Then I gained weight again. Now I am at a point in my life that I want to lose weight once again and this time keep it off.

Hello, Inertia4. You should definitely take a look over there. There are lots of articles on exercse and nutrition, as well as posts from Coach who runs the forum, so the inspiration and support is definitely there.

I will look into it, not for myself but for my girl. I already have to diet because of my diabetes. She is looking to diet because she gained some weight and she wants to look like she used to look. But I told her she has to start by walking then some light exercise. But she seems to be hitting a lazy streak. Thanks for the information.
