Value of Quotations in Life

So many persons quote words from others considering them to be useful in life for inspirations. This is a misconception because quotations are just ideologically framed set of words having not much of value in practical life. Some quotes from ancient persons like Socrates are of good value because those words were not meant to be quoted but as practical wisdom to people in solving their problems and quenching their curiosities. Seeing the popularity of quotes in human societies, many spiritualists and religious preachers have jumped over the bandwagon of creating quotes as their purely commercial enterprises. These quotes are of no practical value in life.

Hi Arjun. The quotation you have cited is indeed a very inspiring one.Who said it? I believe at some times in our life,a couple of good and wise words makes us clearly see our present situation.Sometimes ,it also clears out doubts and gives us wisdom.

hi there rambansal, well, you have a point on that. however, some quoations might serve as a guiding motto in life that we can have as an inspiration. that somehow awaken us to pursue our dreams and wants in life. nevertheless, it is us who really drives our life and in thru our prayers, God guide us in our path.

there are quotations that really move us to act. there are quotations that touch our humanity in us. some quotations provide guidance to others who want a direction. some quotations provide meaning in the lives full of complexities. whether quotations have practical value or not, people use them for varied purposes. and they serve their functions in their own ways.

while I consider principles, goals/vision, wisdom and values of utmost importance in my life, sometimes I get a little happiness of reading quotations and sharing them to other people. Some inspiring words from either popular or intellectual people within the bounds of my set of values or beliefs are worth quoting. Nonetheless, I never rely on those words for inspiration. However, we couldn't undermine the power of words because if we are quoting someone with conviction, it could mean different thing.

I sometimes get my inspirations from reading some quotes. I think that it helps. And i don't see nothing wrong with them. Sometimes they're eye opener to me. But i don't want it to be use as commercial enterprises.
