So, I just started a sign holding business (you know the guys, they stand on the sidewalk and wave and try to get your attention) and need to know where the money is. I want to be legit and not make too many mistakes, like taxes, and over work under staffed. How do I get my business out there with little money? I have been cold calling and that, but it seems I am getting nowhere. I go into places with a positive attitude, and I have heard nothing. What is my flaw? I need some help so I dont tank before I get my first gig. I am greatful for any advice. THANK YOU!!!

What exactly are you trying to promote and sell?

Hello, hsentertainment. It is in the heading that I am trying to promote my "sign holding" business. I hold signs for companies that have sales or events, and need clients. I have done all that I know how, abut I am worried I am not doing enough. Our team has up to 6 months exp. and I want leads for businesses. What do you suggest?

Maybe it's what you say when you talk to them? Or maybe you're a better salesman than I am! I know you have to make it all about them by showing them how it will help their business and their image in the community and whatever else you can think of. After your spiel, simply ask them if they'd like you to do the job for them or ask when would be a good time to start, or something like that. Closing a sale is the hardest part, but since you're online, you can probably find some advice on it.

Thank you peavey, I am always greatful for your advice. I started this business to not only help my situation, but also to help others who have the same problem. I only want to be a better person and make everyones life a little easier. Thank you again and I will make it all about them, because that is what it is all about. Thank you and have a great day. :) :)

I wonder if you could communicate with businesses online? It would have to look somewhat professional.. Perhaps a website is just the ticket! If you can find one of those free webhost sites with buttons and all to create a page..
