Last Friday was my last two highschool final exams!! I'm (or shall I say I was) studying under the IGCSE education system. It's like the international version of the GCSE, one of the most widely used systems in the UK.
The exams I've been taking are of the Advanced-Secondary level, which is a bit more difficult than the Ordinary level exams I took last year. The subjects I took were Physics and Math, I think I like calculating stuff that most people don't care about :P
Since the first exam I haven't had much time to revise everything in a very thorough manner, but I think I managed to do very (very very very very) good. Last Friday, I had a Mechanics (falls under Math) and Physics (Unit 2 of the 3 units). I didn't have enough sleep and didn't revise very well, but I managed to solve every question on the paper and was very happy with what I did.
What did you feel like when you finished your highchool/college finals? Tell me a little about your experience with exams.
Have a fun time myLotting everyone!
I'm gonna be here alot more from now on!

I was not very clever when I went to school so needless to say I hated, and I didn't do very well in exams so it was not a pleasant experience for me at all, but I admire anyone who can study and get through it all, I hope you go on and get a great job or are you going to do more study??/

At the moment, I'm taking a vacation from studies... Well, atleast studies related to school since I'm studying programming on my own. I'm planning on starting a small project, perhaps a video game, in the summer and if the game turns out well my team and I might sell it for a cheap price. I'm now planning on getting into a university, I don't plan to work while studying at a university though.
I'm sorry about your experience with highschool, some people are just not born to study. My cousin has a very short attention span and although he wants to learn he's having a very difficult time making any progress on anything. I still admire him for trying so hard. I believe that some day he's gonna get everything right with his studies.
Have a nice day and happy myLotting!

I was very happy too when I went out of the examination hall and realized that I'm not going to have to worry about studies for a while. I wasn't very happy though when I finished school. Knowing that the structure of every day of my life is going to change kinda disappointed me in a way.
Anyways, have a nice time here and welcome to myLot!

Wow! Congratulations! It must be the best feeling ever to get all of those ugly exams out of the way and now you can move on from high school! I'm in my final year of high school right now and I just want it to be over and done with already! I do Maths and Physics too, I don't like them though, very hard and too much maths. I have my own major exams at the end o this year and I am not looking forward to it as it determines which university and career I will be going to. I hope to graduate soon and hope it's all over. Good for you though, good luck when you get your results back!

Ooohhh yes!! The second I stepped out of the examination hall I just felt amazing! Finally I had nothing to worry about while having fun during my day!
I'm not sure why, but I liked school the last couple of months I was there. I left school about a year ago, the Advanced level subjects I finished were all self taught at home.
I'm interested in what you're planning on majoring in at university since you seem to like stuff related to maths.
Have a good day here anyways and happy myLotting!

I know the feeling of being so excited for the vacation following the exams that you want to study hard for the exams. That's the mind state I had the entire time I was having exams. I always had the "I have to work very hard for some time to have lots of fun later".
Have a nice time.

Oh gosh, the feeling of finally being done with high school - and those finals - was the best feeling in the world! Come to think of it, I really don't think I studied too much for them. I was just excited to get the whole thing over with. I think my last exams in high school were Chinese History and Advanced Algebra, and just getting through these exams, and ultimately passing the subjects, is an achievement that I would always be proud of. Math exams, especially, are rather tough!
As for college, a couple of moths and I'm nearly done, but I feel like I'm gonna miss it a lot. I love taking exams in college because I actually like the subjects I'm taking and consequently being tested on. My grades in high school were pretty much mediocre, but I'm maintaining a high GPA in college, so I think that says something right?
Happy mylotting to you too!

Most people I know hate Math for some reason. I don't, however. Although I do get lots of mistakes but I still like being the feeling of being challenged by a difficult problem and knowing that deep inside I know the solution.
I'm sure I'm gonna be much more comfortable with what I study at college since I'm gonna be majoring in something I absolutely love, Computers. I'm gonna major in Computer Science. I have been preparing myself by learning some programming on my own. Now I think I got the first couple of semesters already covered.
From the number of responses you have I assume you're new here, so welcome to myLot!
Have a nice time!

Congrats!!!! I had just responded to your other post and several people asked whether you passed your exams. Well, now we know, you did!!! Yay. Good for you. I'll have to add you to my friends to keep up with your progress. I graduated a very long time ago, 1989. But I am currently going to school full time working on my degree in Psychology. I plan to get my Doctoral, so I'll be a while. Do you plan on furthering your education??

The results aren't out yet, but I'm pretty much certain of the good grades I'm getting on those exams.
I have accepted your request the second it was sent. I look forward to keeping up with your progress as well.
Psychology has always been a minor interest of mine. Yes, I do plan on pursuing higher studies, one step at a time, but I'm not planning of stopping my education no matter how old I am. I like learning and I don't just want a degree to get a good job. As you can see, the subjects I chose for my AS level exams were Math and Physics, so you'd probably guess that I like learning by nature.
I hope to see and communicate with you here more often.
Have a nice day!

hi sum1passingby,
Congratulations! You are a very studious student. If all students are hardworking as you, I think that there will be a great number of asset a country can have. I am not as good as you especially in math or physics. I hate those subjects and believe me, I do not learn much on those areas most especially in physics when I was in high school. I hope that my physics high school teacher won't read this post of mine in the future. Lol!
I was good in English and History. I love languages. They said that if a person is good in English, he is not good in math and vice versa. I don't know if it is true because I know some people who are good in both areas. Whenever exam is approaching, I really prepare for it. I avoid cramming. I do my best to pass it. Luckily, whenever I took an exam, I get a passing grade. Not that low nor not that high.
