How Much Is Your Morals?

Greed has become one of the most eminent traits of humanity in this egocentric world of ours. Admit it, all of us, in one way or another, have felt an overwhelming desire to acquire more of what we already have. And usually, the subject of our greed is of course no other than the green eyed monster by name of MONEY. C'mon, who doesn't want Money? Who can survive without Money? When everything that surrounds us can have an equivalent value of Money, it's inevitable to be greedy and crave for more. We are living creatures, we adapt to the changes and since the situations in our society are asking us to be "Money-Hungry", then what can we do? We'll just go with the flow. OR we could make a change. Everyone does it. E-V-E-R-Y-O-N-E. Politicians, doctors, lawyers, you name it. They all have experiences of graft and corruption by any means. Sort of ironic right? They, who have the knowledge, the power, the ability to make a change, are the ones who are the most Money-Hungry. They forego their morals, their principles just to gain more of that green eyed monster. How pathetic is that? I wonder how they get to sleep at night. These people might look good outside, with their newly ironed suit and tie but inside, they're rotting. Rotting so bad you would puke in disgust. How about you fellow Earth-man, how much would you sell your morals? How much could they pay you to let go of your principles in life? How far would you go to satisfy your cravings for money? Be honest.

First it is the love of money that is the root of all evil, not the money itself. So therefore wealthy people in the financial sense are all not bad evil people and not all of them got their monies by being in the Mafia, murdering for hire, stealing, or things like that. I always believe in put your money where your mouth is. If you think money is evil, then when you are at work, tell your boss not to pay you. As for morals, all of us are tempted to do harm to some, a few of us stole candies when we were youngsters, there are probably some here who actualy went to jail for theft and I would not be surprised that there are a few who are writing from prison while serving life terms for murder as well those who cheat on their spouses, who stole someone else's boyfriend or girl friend. These are examples of bad morals, but makiog a lot of money honestly or working harder to get more money is not bad morals.

I'm not saying that money itself is evil. What is evil for me is human's greed for money. You're right. Nothing is wrong if you work fair and square in order to earn money that will be used to buy necessary things in life. However, if you acquire money in a crooked way (stealing, corruption, etc) or you took advantage of others for the sake of your gain, that for me is immoral. That's what I'm saying.

The fact we all want or NEED money has nothing to do with greed. Perhaps it has in your case? If you pay me enough I won't be a hooker but you can probably hire me to kill someone. Me and my kids and very poor husband need to live too! I am not money-hungry but their are plenty of times I have been and am hungry. And my husband is hungry the biggest part of the year. How about you? Since you ask others about their morals it would be good if you would tell yours as well. Just pointing fingers at others won't do.

After I graduate, I'm thinking of working on government offices first in order to acquire some experiences and after three to five years, I'll try my luck on private companies, where salary is much more bigger. And because of that, I've been thinking if I can fight the system of corruption while I'm working in a government office. Corruption here in my country is very eminent you see. Anyway, after a lot of thought, after a lot of denial, I came to a conclusion that maybe I could forego some of my morals and earn a little extra through bribes or whatever. I know I could not fight the system, especially if everyone around me does the same thing. I guess it would be really hard for me to battle against temptations particularly if some amount of money is already in your hands. This may be a disappointment to the University I came from (which is a Catholic University by the way), but that's just the way life goes.

OK. I am ambitious but that doesn't mean I can do everything for money. I just love the comforts that money brings when I am still alive on this planet. And Also I don't love money but I love to earn money. I feel so good when I get some extra money from some small business and I love to count the profits. I have my own monthly income which does not thrills me but I am talking about the extras that I make which thrills me to no end. That is why I am trying some online marketing and I like to get even some small profits. Of course, I like spending it too.

I'm only human, and there are times when I let greed dictate my life. Because let's face it, money makes the world go round. Sometimes you can't help but feel bad about yourself and your stature in life, especially if you can't buy the things that you want, or you can't give everything to your family. I admit, if there's any money-making chance that goes my way, I grab it. But I have never cheated for money, and I don't intend to do so - not now, not ever. I can't imagine how those politicians live with themselves, knowing that they stole money not meant for them. I couldn't imagine an existence like that.

Actually we always point fingers at the politicians and the decision makers of our society but actually, its a great responsibility to be up on the stage in front of the public and with the whole world looking up at them ready to criticize them at their every move. And If you could ever in their shoes, then I think its justifiable that they have every right to take the some chunk of the profit. Anyhow, there are laws to see that the politicians/decision makers of our society live up to their promises and also use the necessary development funds wisely or else.... While we are sleeping nicely in our beds at night, the politicians/decision makers of our society are up at night thinking what is best for the society as a whole. And it is us the public who put them there anyways.....
