burning a cd...I spent like an hour or so trying t figure out what wnet wrong. I didn't really have a nero burner but the Windows Media Player did it for me. At first it sadi error and check my cd if it was blank and in perfect condition... God thing I didn't give up and tried it 3 or 4 times again and it worked fine after that.. I downloaded 2 burning apps just in case..didn't work at all though.

As for me it usually took around 20-30 minutes depending on the size of documents or files.. There were few times when I need to redo it as there were errors at the mid process or sometimes it is the CD which I actually could not use at all- every time I bought a stack of CD there will be one or two which I can't use. Now I rarely burn anything as I just keep it in my external hard disk but it's my sister who is crazy on doing this thing as she got many files to get burned in DVD.(^^)

I assume you are using Windows since you mentioned the WMP, but which one? XP comes with the capability to burn CDs and 7 can burn DVDs without the need for external programs or software.

The most important thing in this scenario is that you have learned to burn one! Congratulations! I still remember doing it myself for the first time ending with one successful copy after having messed ten or more blank CDs! Instructions are in English, simple English. However, this same simplicity opens to various interpretations. It is an annoying wonder how one minor misinterpretation could totally make the whole process go nuts. Anyway, your effort paid off. You do not need to worry now about what to do with wasted CDs aside from making flying saucers out of them.

I used to know how to burn a CD, quickly with little or no trouble at all. But I haven't burned one in so long, I have forgotten how. LOL
