What motivates you to study?

Hello friends, I was wondering about what methods do you use while studying? What is your strategy for scoring good marks? What motivates you to study ?How do you remember difficult terms? How do you prefer to study?Alone or in a group?According to you what is the best time to study ?Do you study regularly or when exams are near? How many hours do you study?I am very interested in learning about your own methods and what works best for you?

Everybody is different in terms of how they like to study and it kind of comes down to a bit of trial and error. I personally like to stick up pictures of things that represent dreams / goals. e.g i have a picture of a New York penthouse because that is where i would like to be in 10 years. You can also write yourself a list of reasons to study: like getting a really good job :) I like to study about 2 hours plus a day but everybody's different. And always remember to reward yourself every 30 minutes or so. Try drawing mind maps , explaining it to your dog or teddy ( this may sound crazy but when we become the teacher we often etch the content into our brain very easily). I also like to study with a good friend, but someone who you won't end up getting of subject with. Write yourself a summary ( a table with q's down the left side and answers down the right_) this way your can quiz yourself on almost anything. I hope this helps :)

Thankyou for your kind advice PinkRanga.I shall follow them. What is mind mapping anyways? You have a good determination. You have made everything sound so simple.I shall write down all my goals and draw their pictures.

The only thing how you can learn someting very good is just repeat, repeat and repeat. I didnt have special methods to learn for exams but to learn words and things like that i used site where you can learn them and if you fill it in incorrect you have to translate that word 2 times again.

There are heaps of free apps on the market. With maths its kind of just a matter of practice.... lots of it. And if you have trouble you need to ask someone to explain it to you or try looking up a worked example of the question / equation. :)

I don't know how to study. I don't even study nowadays. I merely read and learn what I need to learn. I don't even know if I'm going to pass my subjects until I see my scores for myself. Nothing motivates me to study unless if the subject of study itself interests me. I don't know with others though, but it seems I don't care anymore what happens to my grades since they are only that: figures on paper...

Hi friends!I think you guys are right,we learn better in subjects which seems to be interesting. But other subjects becomes a load.As soon as I plan to finish a subject,it becomes easier to learn.I begin by thinking I have to finish the book ,then revise it 2-3 times, then I shall get good grades.A little self motivation to finish a task ,or a subject fuels me to finish it.Think it a sport,a race to reach the end. After which you will get the trophy.

The quest for knowledge tends to be a rather good motivator for me. Granted, there are times where I don't need to study all that much, as if someone pays enough attention during the class, then they will be able to retain more information than they would think. Of course, this tends to rather work out a lot better for some people than others. In the end, I take a lot of notes as the class goes on. That helps burn the knowledge into my mind just a little bit. Therefore if I need to look things over, my notes will refresh my memory and I'll be able to study for a limited number of hours. This is not something that works for everyone, but it works for me.

hi mehek, I prefer reading alone. I am as like all students, that is will go to study before exams only. I will take notes that what i studied and keep in shirt form to refer, so that i can use them in the last minutes. I rather learn to keep in mind in logic manner than going into simple mugup like !

Hi Yaso. I too find reading alone is better for me as well.Do you like to make notes of every subject? How do you use your logic method? Can you please explain it in detail? How do you solve them when you have doubts. Thank you
