RIP JoPa - but, unlike a lot of folks, I will not lavish him with praise. After his and Penn State's essential coverup of what that sick SOB Sandusky did, I don't care how many games they won. And I don't care if it seems insensitive to bring up. To me, being a good football coach, being charitable to the university that employs you and the neighborhood in which you live, and being a good man are all different things.
Great coach! One of--if not the--best in all of college football.
Good man? The jury's still out for me.

I didn't make a comment on this discussion because I didn't know what to say but you have expressed exactly the way I feel. Thanks, Matersfish!

i wonder if the stress and strain from the story that has been in the news lately added to his demise.

He seemed pretty out of it when he was last interviewed.

How sad we are! Do you know what his life history is? It is important to know someone who managed to live till the age of 85. What did he eat, and what his life style was. Please share bro, if you do not mind. I think other mylotters are interested to know it too.

Joe Paterno was a good person. How sad that his legacy will be forever tainted by the terrible scandal. May he rest in peace.
