Ian Thorpe, did he reitre to early?

At the young age of 24 Ian Thrope has retired from swimming,what are your views on this, i thought he would go all the way to Beijing

If his heart is not in it, then it is the best decision. I think he is Australia's most sucessfull Olympian and has broke many world records. What more can he acheive really?

thats true ,plus i think the public pressure got onto him as well,cos he hasnt swam for a few years
