One of the worst experiences I've had during traveling was when my leg fell in between the train and the platform in another country and I had all of my luggage with me. Another time was when my partner at the time left his bag in the bathroom and when he remembered, all our cash was stolen. Share with us one of your worst travel memories. Thanks!

I went on vacation and when I was on my way home, I took the bus with only enough fare in my pocket. When the ticket to my destination was handed to me, I pulled up my money in my pocket to pay for it, but much to my surprise, I coundn't find anything. So I started to check my pockets again and my bag but couldn't fine any penny. I felt cold all over thinking what would happen to me going home without a money. Good thing the guy beside me noticed that I'm really weary and started to ask what is wrong, I told him that my money got lost so he offered to pay for the bus and ferry fare to get to my destination. I asked for his office address so that I can pay for it but he refused. I'm so thankful and that also taught me a lesson.

I dont travel much outside or inside the country but I remember once when I went to anothe rparish of our country .I had just stepped off one bus and had baorded another bus to complete the last leg of journey .I was seated in the seat close to the window of the bus when a gentleman came in and sat in the seat before me .
Almost as soon as he sat down annother gentleman walked in with a piece of board so long he had trouble getting in the bus.He walked over to the gentleman and was about to hit him when other held him back .By this time I had somewhat backpedalled out the window and was nearly hung up by the straps of my bag .Luckily I escaped injury and took another bus.

When I was twenty to twenty-one years old I traveled around the world. In Sumatra I had a lovely and exciting time. I had thought In had got away from there without being sick and ill. This caught up with me after I ate a tempting looking salad at the port. On the ferry ride over to Malaysia I got a high fever and began vomiting. I stayed that ill for one week. I remained in my bed at the youth hostel in Penang. I got better but had a number more vomiting episodes. I went to a supermarket and all of a sudden felt weak and like I was about to be sick. I desperately tried asking a shop assistant for an empty box. She thought I needed to sit on a box. I felt ashamed vomiting in that supermarket. I moved on when I did get better. All the other beds had bed bugs except the bed I had been sleeping in. I caught a train from Butter Worth to KL. I felt tired and washed out whilst there. I caught a bus over to Mersing. It was there I fell down an open drain and badly injured my leg. I tore the ligament in my leg and it was very painful. Years later on a deserted beach I got attacked in the Maldives. Asia hasn't been very lucky for me on some of my trips. I hope to have a safe trip on the next time I go to an Asian country.

I'm going to have to say...i've had frustrations but in my trips i've made i remember the good things way more than the bad.
I had a flight that i got bumped from. Very frustrating as I ended up missing days of work(thank god for a forgiving boss!)...and missing my sisters bachelorette party (they took her paintballing!)But i got to spend extra days with my friend i was visiting.
My mom and grandparents and aunt go delayed in Frankfurt this summer coming home from their europe trip. I have to admit...i cried when i found out they werent going to get home they day we expected them but a few days late due to worries of an air traffic controller strike, bad weather and planes being delayed causing them to miss their connecting flight in england.
On our return trip from hawaii...they managed to loose our luggage..but it was delivered to my grandmothers house within about 6 hours of us departing the plane. Upsetting at the time but atleast it was on the return trip not the trip to hawaii!

One of the worst incidents was I was carrying travelers checks. They normally have to be cashed before the working hours of the bank.I realized on a Saturday evening that I didn't have sufficient money to last me till Monday morning when the bank would reopen.I mentioned this to my hotelier. He guided me to a place where they charge extra to cash these checks and give immediate money.I was saved by his timely and useful advise.

I'll share with what my hubby's experience...
Their flight was delayed, surely they were also late on their next connecting flight in effect. They (it's a business trip with co-employee heading to Arizona) had to wait for 8 hours and Cathay didn't provide accomodation for them for the period of that inconvinience instead they just gave them perks for an upgrade to business class on their next travel.
They opted just to stay inside the port waiting for the next flight. It's freezing and thinking to go outside for side trips won't be a good choice. They're from Asia and not used to snow so they felt so uncomfortable.
Hubby's first US trip was kinda memorable! Name it all, personal growth and experience in the US as long as inconvenience along the way *wink!

wow thats a big problem during travel if all of your cash was stolen as we really cant do anything without money, i almost lost money during my travel as i forgot that i left my bag at the sink in the bathroom as i was in a hurry to pee coz i was waiting then when im done only then i realize that i didnt have my bag with me so i rushed out and thank god theres an old lady handling me my bag and she said "you left your bag and i didnt go til you go out to make sure its yours" i was very pleased that time and thankful and she also told me to take care of my belonging and always carry it with me everywhere i go. its my first travel out of the country and i was really forgot that time that i put my bag on the sink as i thought the sling is on my shoulder.

Whenever travel to a foreign country, I hate to drag around with some heavy luggage, and I just don't want to bring too much with me. I would like to travel light and convenient. I also don't like to attract the attention of locals, since I hate to be a target. You never know what gonna happen when you are staying in a foreign land.

These are not crisis situations, these are devastating situations! Even though I travel quite a bit I have never had anything of this magnitude happen to me! I've seen things happen to others though. I'm now 54 and not getting any younger. I consider this a public service message for me! It could happen! I will be extra vigilant in the future because of it.
When I was at the Denver Airport when I saw this couple in their 70's while waiting for my flight to board. They discovered they had lost a folder when they announced we could board. The man discovered the folder was missing and had no choices but to board the flight. I was stuck sitting across the isle from them, watching him visibly stressed and I heard him say to his wife, "I don't know what we're going to do when we get there". I wished I could have helped them in some way!

So far the worst thing that happened to me when I travel was when I decided the last minute to exchange my peso to dollar at the airport. I was only going to Kota Kinabalu then so I didn't need a lot of cash for my trip. And I was only there for 4 days. So I only exchanged my money that is worth USD400.00. The first 2 days were ok. But when my USD200.00 was out and it was time for me to change the remaining USD200.00 to Malaysian Ringgit. No money exchanger would accept it as the series belonged to those that are black listed. I was quite in a panic back then because during that time, I wasn't carrying an atm or credit card with me. So what I did was go back to the hotel and open my laptop and chatted with a friend to remit some money via Western Union. hahaha... And so problem solved...
