Does anyone know the best way to get census information for Tennessee, before 1850? I am having the hardest time! Frustrating!!

There are several sites where you can get this information. This one has more detail in the sidebar about which ones exist and which don't: http://www.censusfinder.com/tennessee.htm
Much the same information can be seen here: http://tn.gov/tsla/history/census/census1820.htm with a list of books (but no records online, it seems).

Wow, thank you! I will try them tonight. I am seeing my family as white, then mullatto, then white again. I hope I can see if they were in fact Indian.
