I've got to figure out where to get my taxes done this year

I have to figure out where I am going to get my taxes done this year. I've never had to go anywhere to get them done because family has always done them. This year though I want to get them done for myself. I know that there is turbo tax, and I would go with that if I could install it on this computer but I can't. If I were to get a laptop instead of a tablet I would get turbo tax, but well I don't know. A friend offered to ask her mom if she'd do them for me, and if so I may go with that, it may be cheaper that way. I've never gotten them done anywhere else, but there are plenty of places to go to around here. I don't want any place that offers cash back that same day (like say $50 upfront like one offers) I just want someone who will do my taxes for me quickly and easily. Do you do your own taxes or let someone else do them for you? My grandfather used to work for a tax office, but he's not up on tax laws and I'm afraid he'll mess them up.

We go to H&R Block every year and they are great! I would be too afraid to do them myself just in case something got messed up. I really like this place, they have always gotten us back a good amount...

That is actually where my grandfather used to work. I may go with them myself, but I'm just not sure. I already have my W2 back, I just need to get the money to take care of them, which may be in March!

How much does H&R Block charge to file?

I go to H and R Block to get it done. If you go to the IRS website it gives you a phone number you can call to find out where they will do them for free if you are low income. I never do my own taxes because I am afraid I will mess up. With H and R Block you can choose to get a refund the same day, but one does not have to. I always have my tax return deposited automatically so it goes in faster.

I did mine for free and it is being direct deposited. Should be in there in seven days. I am excited about it and will most likely use it to pay off the moped.

There us a place where you can file them free on the US.gov site. If you made under 30,000 they will redirect you to some sites that they use. I have done my son's on there a couple of times and it works great. It's really easy and it just walks you through it. Now if you are going to itemize, I really would suggest letting someone else do it. I don't do mine myself for just that reason. I itemize and I want to make sure that everything is right. My son's was just his W-2 forms and standard deductions..no big deal so it worked out good that there was that option.

That's actually what I did, used the site that TLLD suggested above. I got it out of the way in about 20 minutes time and feel good about getting it done. I was stressing over where I'd get it done and this and that. Instead of paying upwards of $50.00 to get someone else to do it, I paid $10.00 to get them to send them to the state as the gov't was free.

As already stated, there are online filing programs that don't require downloading and are free. Start with the IRS (www.irs.gov/) site for recommendations. Go to your state gov site for their accepted free filing programs. Can't get any cheaper than FREE. We are required by law to file taxes. I'll be damned if I pay someone to do what I have no choice to do. When I'm making 6 figures, I'll think about it, but I don't have to worry about it this year.

I did use one of the websites suggested by TLLD. I am glad that the only thing I had to pay was $10.00, it's a relief to have it doen as well. I was stressing over the cost of it and not wanting to put it off but was going to have to if I didn't get that free site suggested to me.

In my country we can submit or taxes online and just fill in the online form, since i don have mega properties or mega salaries or mega investment , hence last year tax submitaion and details will be the same with this year.So basically copy and paste into the new year form and submit only. It is easy and convenient and basically i am under the poverty line hence no need to paid income tax just self declare only.Yup have to declare oneself poor for exceptaion.

I got mine done online, so it's already done. I'm really bad with taxes so glad there was a step by step thing and no need to add / subtract / do the figures manually.

I used to do my own taxes but after several years of that I decided to try H & R Block and I never went back. They garantee their work and although they are a bit expensive I feel like it is worth it to be assured of good work. A friend's mom could do them but what if she made a mistake and you were audited?
