Nothing but negativity drama and fighting in the world

This discussion is born from two other discussions I read and responded back to not too long ago. They both spoke of negative people, unnecessary drama and arguments that lead to more negativity, drama and arguments. They didn't have a clue how to combat these situations when they were unwittingly brought into them.
Here is my answer to stopping battles before they begin! You can remain silent, look up facts proving both parties are wrong, or creatively bring the conversation to a complete halt with a positive statement that no one can argue with! Case in point; I was a teenage girl stuck at the end of a long table, sitting with my dad and my uncle who brought up a subject I totally disagree with! We had been chatting about some neutral subject no one could disagree with, probably about their jobs or something. Then the subject came up about what girls and women should and should not do. They talked about where we belong in the world and where men belong. I could not stop myself because I totally disagreed and told them so! My dad rebutted and I just said, "Dad you never stopped me from doing anything just because I'm a girl". Conversation over.
It was then and there I realized my mom and dad accidentally raised me to be an independent person. Oops! I was 16. By the age of 18 I was well on my way to releasing mom and dads grip on my future, becoming an integral part of the financial industry and not a Medical Assistant. They never knew that by teaching me how to creatively dispel a negative situation with a positive statement would lead me to my lucrative career with a great future.
Next case in point; I always gave my children the option of believing in the Catholic Church or not so I volunteered to be a religious ed teacher and brought my children with me. One day my oldest son, age 8 said "Mom, why do you bother teaching religious ed?" I said "to buy my way into heaven". After a few seconds he said "Hey! You can't do that!" I responded, "that's why I teach religious ed".

What is truth for one person or fact doesn't need to be a fact to an other person.
Your example about what your dad said about the place of the women in the society/world is a good example of that.
In most cases it's better to bite your tongue since it's still not normal women have the same rights. Men still love to dominate them.
Personally I don't believe in same rights, same education, equal way or raising.
If I give my son a pink tshirt people will laugh at him. Same if he loves to knit or cook. If I give my daughter a car to play with people find it weird too.
Even at schools there are no same rights, they do make the difference between girl and boy even if the school says both genders can develop their talents (still weird if you subscride your daughter for robot lessons).
I think most of the time it's useless to say what your rights are. Those who don't believe in it, won't respond in an adult, respectful way anyway. So a fight will be easily started.
I wonder why you write: the option of believing in the Catholic Church! It's not the church where one should believe in but in the religion. Church is a complete different thing.

Such a very controversial discussion for sure.
It depends on nationality, religion and so many things.
Women are supposed to have the same rights as men, but I
still think it's a mans world to a great degree.
I have mixed feelings on it. I like making the same wage
and being able to enjoy the freedoms I do. Still, I like
having the door opened for me and treated special because I
am a woman.

That's for sure and you taught him a great lesson with your response. I taught my kids to be independent too...too much so I think sometimes. One lives in Germany and loves it...I however would love to have her closer. But there is alot of negativity in this world. People expect so much now days without finding it themselves! And life is really just a matter of opinion..and in my opinion if people were more concerned about themselves and not everyone else some of this would stop.

To me it's a waste of time! Time is always best used doing positive things for others. I honestly feel sorry for those who miss out on the good things doing for others in life. I can't imagine anyone liking to hang around a negative nancy or negative ned. I wouldn't be able to stand the conversation!

This is a controversial discussion as it depends on many things.Every man and women should have the same rights but unfortunately men always have the upper hand. This type of incident happens in every girls in this present day scenario.
