I find the most effective way for me is to have a warm shower before I sleep. It relaxes my body and my mind as well so by the time I'm lying on my bed, I'm so relaxed that it just takes a few minutes before I'm fast asleep.

Considering that I only have less than 5 hours a day to sleep, every minute of my restful slumber is valuable. To ensure this, I take a nice cold shower, complete my beauty ritual and drink a glass of milk or tea. And then I try to make peace with myself. I take a moment to reflect on the highlight of my day, the ups and downs and I pray about it. In that way, I get to thank the Almighty for the blessings that He has given me and I leave to His will all my burdens. This way, I reassure myself that tomorrow's gonna be a bright new day!!

Well actually I am a fast sleeper.. but if insomnia strikes me, I usually read books, or eat.. because sometimes the reason why I can't sleep is because I am hungry..
