before buying a laptop, it is important that consideration is how much money would you spend to buy this. Then you are looking for laptop brand and type reference according to the amount of your money.
If you want a laptop with good quality and specifications, you should provide more money too.

Hi there,
With reference to your main topic discussion, perhaps better to check first your budget. Then after that, go and look for the brand you prefer according to your allotted budget. After doing those, you can now decide which brand you will buy. Hence, brands are only a name of the product and most often than not, they are all the same. Except if you have already a specification in mind.

Nowadays Asus is a top of the market with 2 years global warranty. If your selection is Asus, honestly to tell that, Asus laptop is best ranges for long lasting. It is contains a simple graphics card, the battery is good enough ,performance is also good but it is a not good quality low-resolution screen and the price a little expensive.
Acer is largest selection of models of laptop. It is combine of Acer and Gateway.I don't know much about that and you should explore details in internet i think. Set your budget and make a good decision.

It all depands on what type of laptop you want and what budget you have.
If you would like a gaming one I would suggest you AlienWare because of their awesome design and pretty good specs. However, there are some cons about AlienWare. A lot of users have reported that they got a toxic fluid comming out of the Lythium battery located inside of the laptop and that it burned the laptop's parts completly. Also it's huge price is a problem. If you are an expert in computing and can build up a pc yourself then do it. That is the best of all choices because you can adjust the needs to what you exactly want, chose your case and best of all you can get the same PC that you would pay it store like $2000 for as low as $1000.

Hi Selline.
I would suggest you to select your budget range first then do some research work over the internet and make a list comprising of what configuration will you want to go with like processor, ram, hard disk, optical drive, screen size and resolution etc etc.Prepare a list of the models which you like the most based on the preferences and ur budget.
After that you have to do a market watch so as to know about the availability of models you have selected.
Ask your friends for their feedback on their laptops and seek some help from internet.
Eventually you will get to know which model and brand you should go for.
I have bought a lenovo laptop Z570 in december 2011.
And i feel it is a great machine at affordable price.:)
Hope it will help.
