Playing multiple sports

My son is contemplating whether he should just concentrate on playing basketball. He is been doing soccer and basketball in the past three years. For both sports he excels in his club, and his teams always made it to grand finals at the end of season. But now he is thinking to just concentrate on one sport and give it his most efforts. Is it possible to do well on multiple sport? Or does one need to concentrate on just one sport if he wants to be his best in it?

@sishy7 OH YOU HAVE A SON! I am learning bits and pieces from you while reading your posts lol Cool!
I guess it depends on the person. I think it is possible to do both or even more sports at the same time. I think it would be up to your son. If he feels he is doing well and would like to keep it up then awesome. But if he feels he would genuinely like to concentrate on just the one then that is awesome too.

@VivaLaDani13 Don't be embarrassed and frankly, I somewhat tried to stay 'gender-neutral' the first year I was here. You notice these early posts of mine rarely talked about family and I would use 'spouse' instead of husband/wife. But then I joined Bubblews and on there I had to put a gender on my profile page so there was no use to stay neutral. When I came back here, many already knew me from there that I'm a mom (there, I just confirmed to you what my gender is ). But yeah, occasionally I'd still get called 'dude' or 'brother' by those not too familiar with me and I never really mind because I realize it's not completely their fault that they didn't know...

@sishy7 Challenge accepted! In all honesty....I still don't even know what gender you are. I feel so embarrassed saying that but I don't ever recall it being said before.
Awesome! I'm sure he will do amazing!

I would suggest that you sit down with him ask him what sports he wants to do more off, than he could do the other one less.
I would suggest he does both sports as they both rely on stamina and that so if he decides to focus on basketball playing soccer will help him develop stamina. It is not bad to have a interest in a different sport because what would happen if he was not successful in one sport but had the ability to be very good at the other?
I used to play soccer, rugby, tennis, golf, basketball, squash. I was in my college team for soccer, squash and tennis, I then had trials with soccer clubs in the UK to play soccer and did not succeed, I then decided to go to a tennis academy in spain on a scholarship but a knee injury meant I was unable to get to the standard of being a pro. I came back to england and started doing tennis coaching badges.
I still play soccer and tennis im my free time and teach kids how to play the sport and have some good well known friends from the sports.
Try not to limit it to one sport as the more sports you do the more doors are open to you.
