Manga fans, do you stop at just the manga? What I mean by this is...after you read a manga series, and if you love it, do you stop there? Or do you then watch the anime as well because you loved the manga so much (or vice versa)? I do that, and will even find the live drama or movie, if one exists, and buy it as well. I usually enjoy the live dramas more in some ways (such as, it involves actual people and gives the characters more depth and emotion that an anime cannot show), but dislike them in others (it usually differs so much from the anime/manga).
So, what about you? If you like the manga, will you watch the anime as well to sort of feed the addiction? (Or vice versa, if you loved the anime first)

Hi tenshijanai!
I love watching anime. I love watching it better than reading it. The characters are just too colorful and in manga (even in online channels) they have no color. I know it's a shallow thing but I like seeing them being so colorful and lively! And I love their voices, except for those super tiny voices that is so close to sounding like a mouse squeaking.
When I already watch anime, it is fine with me even if I don't read it anymore. I only look for the anime online when the movie or the series is incomplete. Like the anime, Bokura Ga Itta (We Were There), it is not a complete story so I am hunting for it's second part..

I agree the characters are more colorful in the anime and it is easier to imagine their personalities when it is presented to you. I love seeing how their personalities come alive in the anime as opposed to the manga.
The manga that I read are ones that haven't been made into an anime yet like Record of the Fallen Vampire, Sakura Hime and Bride of The Water God. I enjoy both for different reasons, but I think I like anime better.

The sound effects are also enjoyable. They add spice to watching anime! One of my favorite series is Love Hina. It is very funny and the characters are so cute!

Yeah, I get like that. I will read the manga and feel like "ugh...now what". 9 times out of 10, I prefer the anime perhaps because of the action and drama, as you mentioned. :)

No, not really.. I look forward for an anime version, a movie and a live action drama. it is more fun to see them really moving.. I most like the live drama especially if it is a tv series...since they have more opportunity to put the entire manga story there.

For some story I really enjoy the manga and anime as well, but sometimes when I just finish the manga series and watch the anime I feel disappointed. In my imagination the manga story turn into anime should be like this and like that, sometimes it just not happen as my imagination.sometimes greater and sometimes less.

Not only do I like to watch the anime in addition to reading the manga because I like to see it in video, but also often they will change the story a bit or add in some parts, so it's worth watching both. Some series will just be better in anime also, or vice versa.

I love watching the anime of the manga that I have read. I actually watch Fushigi Yuugi before I read the anime. And I have to admit I enjoyed the manga more than the anime. There is something about seeing it in print. But the anime is still one of my favorite anime that I have watched.

Mine is vice versa. I tend to watch animes and when I get fond of it, I continue to manga. Sad to say, animes do not last as long as mangas do and sometimes they change the storyline on animes to fit an ending. I prefer animes following the stories of mangas but there is only one that I preferred the storyline of. It was Full Metal Alchemist. It is one of the best animes I have seen. Another one of my favourites would be Claymore. I know I am far from the topic but I just wanted to share the animes I watch, haha.

I think I'm different from most, 'cause I seem to always stop at the manga. I always seem to have this impression that stories are better when you actually read them rather than watch them. You know, like the books that were adapted into movies, usually the book is better. Unless the movie or anime or live action gets a rainshower of positive reviews, I won't bother. I'd move on to the next manga/book. ;)

If I find that the story is interesting, I'll watch the anime, but not really for live drama or movies. Sometimes live drama or movies make me disappointed.

well not all of them. after I read a manga, and I think It would be awesome if I saw things moving here. that would be just awesome, then I watch it. sometimes because I really fond of it if I did, I would go even further to see its live action. but sometimes It makes me disappointed so most of them I just read the manga without any urge to see the movies or drama.

i'm a manga fan... and i just stop in the manga... i don'y have any interest in the anime at all... usually the manga and the anime contradicts each other... some stories in the original story line which is the manga was not in the episodes of the anime... the anime somewhat become incomplete in terms of story... and the anime were creating its own set of stories... like the OVA... OVA's usually were not based on the manga... so i like the manga more... even though the anime stops the manga still continues...

I depends. For lots of Manga I read, there is no anime adaptation in the first place, so there's nothing fro me to watch anyway.
As for drama adaptations, I never watch them. I don't really like the Japanese way of acting and also think that it usually doesn't really fit if a comic is made into live action (this goes for western comics as well).
Sometimes, I don't watch the anime series made out of a manga, because there were too many and too bad changes made in my opinion. I usually read some reviews and descriptions before I start watching anime.
