Is it possible and healthy to lose 60 lbs. in 100 days ?

January 25, 2012 4:03am CST
I am turning 20 and I am ready to be fit, trim and lose all of my blubber. I want to be more healthy, energetic and more flexible. My birthday is in about a hundred days so I am trying to be realistic about my goals. I need to lose 60 lbs to be in the normal weight for my height. Is it possible to reach my goal in just 100 days? Have you lost significant weight in a short amount of time? How did you do it?

Hello Nicolai! How are you? I hope you are doing good! With regards to your question, I would like to answer you honestly that it would not be possible and healthy losing weight of 60lb.s in just one 100 days. The time frame and your weight doesn't coincide with each other. It is okay if you set time frame as long as it is equal with the weight you want to achieve. I am sorry to say that. Anyway, don't lose hope. You are still young. I believe if you are determined by that, you will achieve it. Stay fit always. I am always here for you willing to help. Take care and God bless.

that's 3 months so you have to lose 20lbs in a month. possible but not quite healthy. your body will be in shock if you drastically change your diet. it an't adjust easily. and besides losing 20 lbs in a month would be very tiring and stressful for your body.

I see, that's a good point. I will try to change my lifestyle little by little so as not to adversely affect my body but I wish that my metabolism could be increased.

Dear Blue Why are you rushing to lose weight fast? Remember your weight today is what you have carelessly eating from day one till today. Reducing weight that fast can ruin your health. Of course I could recommend many pills and drinks that can achieve your target in that time. But at what price? Trust me I have lost 40 over pounds in six months but I am happy with this pace. So should you. Don't ape the 'fast food' concept. It all a gimmick. OK? Thanks! Bro. Joe. GBU

You can lose such weight in a span of time but not in 100days, you have to set a goal weight that starts little by little, and you can do it slowly, also try to incorporate excercises with your diet, eat alot of fibrous foods, veggies, fruits, fish, try drinking teaesp lemongrass tea, but also try to drink tons of water. cut off with your sodium intake, sugar, and flavored and carbonated drinks, get water or a fresh fruit juice instead of artificial and carbonated ones. you can still take sugar and a little sodium since it sucks to eat foods that doesn't have a taste at all but keep it in moderation, avoid processed foods aswell. and you can also watch your calorie intake per day.

It is possible but it wont be that easy. I lost about 50lbs in 5 months through aerobic exercises and lots of fluid diet.

The best way of losing weight is to do it slowly - beware of 'crash diets', to set yourself sensible and achievable goals and to reward yourself for achieving them. It's also helpful to have support of some kind, either from family or friends or by joining a local weight-watchers progamme. This page has good and medically approved advice: http://www.bupa.co.uk/individuals/health-information/directory/l/diet-lose-weight Note that it suggests aiming to lose no more than 1 or 2 pounds per week and that you can expect to lose more at the beginning of the diet than toward the end. It's important to know what your Body Mass Index is and therefore how much overweight you are (and whether, in fact, you are overweight!). There are plenty of calculators online. You just need to enter your age, gender and height and you will see what the healthy range is for you. Being under weight is just as dangerous and unhealthy as being overweight but there is quite a wide range of weights which are normal and healthy.

No, stupid and ridiculous. Aim to loose weight slowly, that way it is more likely to stay off. Eat porridge for breakfast, made with rolled oats and water only, no milk or other stuff Drink tea Eat little or no meat Eat much vegetables and eat potatoes as your staple Do at least 1 hour exercise at least 3 times a week all the best urban

Are you really that big? Why would you want to lose that much of weight? If I were you, I would it gradually to avoid sagging of your body parts. Make sure you eat fruits and take multivitamins along the process to avoid getting sick. Advance Happy Birthday.

You must be foody, I won't tell you to do dieting, i know you can't control your appetite. Well if you running as much you can on treadmill or anywhere, you can quickly lose your weight + unwanted blubber skin. I feel you can lose 30 lbs in 1 month and with in 2 months your target will be completely if you do this with full determination and discipline. So cope over your laziness. Run Run Run..

Yes indeed it's possible. 100 days is a long period of time and enough. But of course if perseverance , consistency , patience , temperance is there. Losing weight is really a very hard work to do but gaining weight is indeed so simple. I really can understand your situation now, for i am struggling that before as well, but because of some help from friends i was able to loss weight. Until now we are doing some daily exercise every morning, at 4am. Exercise will be vain if there is no temperance in food and some other lifestyles. Proper diet is vital indeed. We should be mentally, physically and spiritually balance. Weekly I loss 5 pounds, so imagine 100 days? it's quite enough, good luck in your goal then, be focus and consistent, you will be fit sooner or later. G'day.
