hi guys..just want to share with you and i also want to have some suggestions from you of what i'm planning to do..
i'm planning to start a business..just a small one..to gain some extra income, since i'm studying again and don't have a job..
here in cebu, philippines, we are famous for our danggit (a type of dried salted fish)..many loves the taste of danggit from cebu..so i'm planning to directly buy from the supplier of it (from the far province of cebu) and will send it to my friend in general santos city, philippines to sell the products..and since general santos city is also famous with their tuna fish, so my friend will supply me of those and i will sell it here in cebu..so in short..exchange of goods..
am i planning it right guys??i know it's gonna be risky..but i'll take the risk..better try it..any ideas guys?

If that's the only plan you have then I suggest you rethink the whole thing. You have to calculate how much it would cost to buy, export and import and compare it with how much you're gonna get from selling the products. Compare the income with the outcome of the project and see if it'll make you any good profits. If it will then I suggest you go ahead with it.
Best of luck with your business plans!
Have a nice time myLotting!

a pleasant day kaeirole,
with reference to your main topic, well, what you are planning is fine. although as you have said, it is a little risky. please take into consideration, that every part of the business has a risk. no matter how big or small it is, risk has played a role when running a business. only, you just have to be certain and be prayerful. hence, if you make God as your Team Head in that business, for sure, He will guide you thru towards its success.

i am not a business woman but it think that's good. consider not only the nature of business but also the management. you have to have discipline with your business money, do not mix it with your personal expenses. and your customers are number one. you must have good customers. not those that ask for discounts or credits though it is helpful to be generous sometimes. just watch your limits because as you said, it's a risk. a really big risk. if it fails, you may also fail some people. this 'business is business' thing is really hard to explain to some friends and relatives, if you know what i mean.

That's a good start. Good luck!
I think you need to plan two more things: where will you start selling specifically, and what's your plan, if in the worst case, you can't generate any sales.
But overall, just make your first step and keep moving.

I think that's a good idea, I love dried "danggit", my brother in law always brings danggit whenever he travels from Cebu where I think the company he works for has a branch. It's so good fried to a crisp (it's already sun dried)or cooked quickly over very hot coal if you hate oil, I looked up what "danggit" is in English and came out with rabbit fish. Gensan tuna is classic, quite expensive here in Metro Manila but really first class, so good with lemon butter sauce, umm...
That's business, bring the product to where it is scarce and sought after so you make maximum profit, you are also right, buy it direct from the source as much as possible to avoid several meddle men. Good luckBtw any business always involves some kind of risk....

Hi there kaeriole,
Hope mylotting is fantastic today,
I think any business is risky but paying attention to the smallest details is the key, computation of cost to possible earnings and interests on the business is the stuff to learn, if you are in to perishable goods make sure you get your products fast and the you personally check it before distribution. aight...

Hello kaeirole, it is a very good business to start but you need to research places in the Philippines that don't have danggit. If you have a friend in general santos city, be sure he or she be an honest partner. Today, you can not trust anyone in the business world not unless your friend is also your trusted family friend. Nice to meet you my country friend. Happy mylotting.

The best thing you should do before taking that business is to sit down and calculate the expenses and risks associated with it. Putting up a business is not an easy thing and you must be realistic in your goals.. be ready to accept failure coz not all are successful with this.. even a well planned business fails. Think about it.

Hi there,
That's a wonderful business plan, but try to think and balance things first. Dried fish is one of the Filipino's favorites. Taking extra planning on something will make things smoothly flowing. It involves money indeed. Good luck in your business.
