I have a 7 month old son that is starting to crawl! It is just the cutest watching him move around the livingroom, trying to pull out books and chew on them. He was born with club foot and has to wear special shoes, but only at night now. We figured that would inhibit him from learning to crawl and sit untill a little later in life but he is just going at it like mad! He actually tried to pull himself up at the couch today. Isn't it wonderful to see babies reach achievments? I feel so proud of my little man, even though it is a natural thing for babies. Now to teach my older ones to leave their small toys out of the living room again! When did your child start to crawl? Do you take joy in the small triumps such as this or is it just me?

It is interesting to hear that your little boy was born with a club foot and is now at 7 months old learning how to crawl. I took joy in the small successful steps my children did in their early days, weeks and months. My disabled son is now 4 years old. He has one club foot and one opposite to club foot. Last year he had leg and feet operations. He had to wear plaster of Paris to straighten his feet. His worst foot points like the handle of an umbrella. He is in a wheelchair. When he was 2 years old he did soldier like crawling in the way dragging his legs and feet along the ground. He has no feeling below his waist. The surgeon brought out a piece of metal from his leg and he was chatting away with no idea what the surgeon was doing to him. His legs act like jelly plus combined with his poorly feet and different length of legs I don't think he will ever walk. Sadly he sits still and does go crawling around anymore. He wears leg and feet splints all day long. I give him a rest in the night time from them. Although the professionals want him strapped to the bed. I don't want that as I wish him to be happy and sleep well.
