which of this two you prefer to? my friends told me that it is better for the boys to be loyal than to be faithful. because according to that boys it is better for them to says that they are loyal to the girl than to be faithful. because loyalty for them is they can have a relationships or all the flirt moves they want but still they will turn back to the girl they loved most while faithful to them makes them liar for themselves because they are boys they can't stop their flirt to other girls so they can't be faithful all the time but they can be loyal to the girl they love. *** do you agree with this? *** *** what can you say about this? *** ^_^

I've heard of this difference between "loyal" and "faithful". And I'd say that someone "loyal" is better than someone who's "faithful". Someone "loyal" is a person who gives his full attention to only one girl/boy. No one else. Someone "faithful" is a person who sticks to one girl/boy, meaning even if he sometimes flirts with others of have those flings, he/she will always come back to that one girl/boy in the end. But I guess, loyal people are a rapidly deteriorating species, what with the worldly vices today. If there are, he/she's either married now or taken. ^^ I'm happy enough to meet one once in my life. Though he's not married to me. :)

Hello goodgurl, First of all, i must say that you are confusing yourself with the two words 'loyal' and 'faithful', as these two words have the same meaning. There is absolutely nothing to say about your post than to make you understand that whether it is a boy or a girl is said to be loyal or faithful, it means the same thing, ok?

To me its just the same. Loyalty comes with faithfulness and vice vesa. You can't be called faithful if you are not loyal and the other way around. I guess there is a very thin line between this two and it is almost the same in any way.

Hi there, i dont think i understood the difference of loyalty and faithfulness based on your friends' definition of the two words. But, personally, everytime I hear the word loyalty, I usually think of loyalty to a superior? a master? a boss? or anyone in the field of work, politics or some other of similar nature. And, faithfulness, that, I think of being "loyal" to a partner, I guess they actually have the same meaning, it's just about the usage of the word. hehe

To me I think the difference between loyalty and faithfulness is very small. One is a component of the other. That is, for you to be loyal to a girl you have also to practice faithfulness to her. Therefore I don't think whether the two qualities can successfully work separately.

Well, those two words are synonymous. They both mean adhering firmly and devotedly to someone or something that elicits or demands one's fidelity. Faithful and loyal both suggest undeviating attachment, though loyal applies more often to political allegiance.

I don't agree. Loyalty and faithfulness cannot be separated. You cannot be loyal or faithful to a certain person when you are flirting with others. I think what they are doing is playing games and it is selfishness. There is no loyalty there.
