Without any doubt I hate SOPA and PIPA and those that support these two bills.. This thread is created just to show my protest against those evil congressmen who are trying to ruin the internet.
I also have an idea on what can we do to protest.. does not matter which state you are from, simply call your state senators and make your voice heard in the process. www.americancensorship.org is a great tool that will help you find who your state senators are and their numbers.. Simply call them and say that you protest..
Join this discussion and help protest.. In any case Internet shouldn't be ruined..

For me both can be detrimental to internet freedom, they say it is for the protection of intellectual property rights and prevent piracy. That is what they say is all about but we cannot overlook the fact that these are all just the shallow aim of these two bills. There are other hidden agendas to it, the government will be able to shut down whatever site they see that is posing a threat to it's interest without proper legal action. If they see that your site is unsuitable to what they want it to be they will just turn the switch off and boom your gone. Imagine the internet being under constant surveillance, it's like having a curfew hours if these two bills will be passed. A good start for them was Wikileaks, now they are targetting file sharing site like Megaupload, yes some copyrighted files maybe shared through that site but then let's think about it, why do we allow file sharing if we are limited to this and that? Copyright this and copyright that, the big companies are getting fatter with these copyright crap when they cannot even make the prices of their products go down to a cheaper level so that no piracy will occur. Besides who invented the copiers and writers that software pirates use, isn't it the same companies who are complaining about piracy?. They should not have commercialized DVD writers if they don't want softwares to be distributed illegally.

I don't like the bills because they let the government look at what we download. Fortunately, a lot of people opposed the bill and it was stopped.

I have nothing against copyrights but the government should not have the power these bills provide. The only sharing of materials that I do and get on the Internet is small parts of something which serves more to create interest in the whole thing and thus would help sales by the copyright owners rather hurt them. In fact if more pieces of movies were available earlier before they appear in theaters of at least while they are still playing, I would probably go to more movies. I do not trust the trailers that are shown because they so often show the best and only good part of a movie. This last Summer I won four free passes to any movie and only used one because nothing looked good to me based on the trailers. I gave the other three away and only two were used. There several movies that I might have considered if I had had more to go on than just the descriptions and trailers. If these pieces of legislation pass, I may never go to a movie again. It is just another case of politicians trying to run roughshod over the rights of people.

SOPA and PIPA they are sister bill and they were widespread in every site I came across by. It really makes us saddened especially when this two bill will become a law. I think it deprives our freedom of speech here. I just hope they will go over the bill and meticulously scrutinize it before making it a law.

i think all web users hate this because all of we at least once has downloaded an illegal copy of a song and if goverment approves the law would give us a severe headache and if we will need some information from a book in the net we would have to buy it and all the world would collapse so say no to sopa and pipa but many say that behind something theres always a hidden truth i believe that this law is created only to to keep us under vigilance disguised whit a smoke screen
