For several years I have been in the morbidly obese category and despite good intentions have never been able to keep to a 'diet' as I felt so completely overwhelmed by the need to lose 7 stones that I always gave up in exasperation.
In October 2011 I went on holiday with my family and was so ashamed of the photos of myself that I wouldn't upload any to facebook that had me in them. I just sat and cried while eating a whole cheese baguette and drinking a diet coke.
I came across a website called minimins and found it the hub of activity about many different diets and weightloss solutions. I decided to find out more about one called Exante Diet which is a meal replacement very low calorie diet. It seemed that a lot of people had success on the diet with dramatic results and that many people were also able to maintain the weightloss too. I decided to try it out.
7 weeks in I have lost over 40lbs and am out of the morbidly obese category and into obese. In fact I expect to enter the top end of the healthy range of bmi by mid February and to reach my ultimate goal weight and 7st loss by the end of April. It is a fantastic meal replacement diet with a range of tasty shakes, soups, porridge, and bars. I personally keep to the shakes and soups, but do occasionally have a bar from time to time. There is no need to exercise and I haven't done any exercise yet, but as I lose more and more weight I find that I have much more energy than I did before and I want to start doing some exercise soon! Whoever would have thought that out of breath, fat wobbly me would ever WANT to do exercise???? But I do!! I plan to start aqua-aerobics soon, and when I get into the healthy range I want to try the c25k challenge!!
I can't recommend Exante enough, it's made a world of difference to my life already and I feel truly alive for the first time in years!!

Dear Fellow MyLotter
Whatever brand you are talking about I am not interested! Period. Getting a good weight off your hips and thigh can never be done by artificial means. Trust me. What you really need is to get a mentor who is naturally thin. Such people live and eat well for the rest of their lives. Eating and drinking diet meals would help you to lose weight for a short while. You would put back the weight you lost and then some more. Also, buy a good book written by a medical doctor. You won't go wrong with that. Prove me wrong and I will eat my hat and deserve a pie in my face. OK? Thanks. Love: Bro. Joe. GBU

I'm not sure that you would necessarily gain weight again unless you return to your old, unhealthy eating habits. I lost 5 stone with exante diet, and have kept it off for over 2 years now. I eat treats now and again - I'm only human, and moderation is good. However I don't binge like I used to, because I know what will happen if I do. Sometimes I have a naughty weekend of a few too many snacks, but it's ok because I return to my normal healthy eating again immediately, and my weight has stayed the same since coming off exante. It's a good diet in my opinion, but if you want to keep the weight off, go back into healthy food gradually, and don't go back to old eating habits.
Good luck xx
