RETRIEVIng files...how to do it??

i had a bad day today...all the documents i have with my 8GB USB is gone for nothing... I cant think what to do for the things i needed to redo again... But i want to know? Is there any probability to retrieve my files when everytime that i insert my usb(flash drive) to any computer it says that i need to reformat it again.. If i reformat my USB all my files will be gone and what will i do i need all my files from my work...
